I was born in late May 1987, and my mother told me about the great storm of 1987. I expected to wake up crying, but she told me that I slept through it. Seeing the footage now amazes me!

Thank you, Liam for this amazing reminder video. Guys, if you think you might be affected by severe or minor storms, don't panic. It's not the end of the world. If people do lose their lives, it is good to have a tribute to remember them in a certain and specific storm. Thanks!

Great video, Liam! I also remember Michael Fish saying a lady had phoned into the BBC about a impending storm and him telling everyone not to worry about it 😂

Fish's comment is always quoted out of context. The caller to the BBC was concerned about a hurricane reportedly being on the way to the Caribbean, where a friend of hers was about to go to for a holiday. Michael Fish allayed her fears, and was not referring to the storm that hit France and the UK, which he mentioned afterwards. The media twisting things for greater impact, once again.
