Thanks man! They have a lot of power but at 8-9ft they are a 3rd of the adult size. So another species say a hammer at a third of the adult size wouldn't be much of a fight. They did give a tug but for their size they didn't fight much like any sharks. They bursts of energy were super fast and ended a few times in breaches!

@@GulfCoastNationAlright there are two stories the first one happened a couple years ago off of the Oceanside pier I took my buddy down there in mid July we were targeting mackerel for cut bait for later off the end well the pier rats in the front left corner hooked onto this giant shark and we’re fighting it for about 45 minutes going back-and-forth at the front of the pier it was a very clear night and I just remember looking up at the reflection of the moon off the ocean not even paying attention The shark took a major right hand turn and breached out of the water I kid you not the thing was about 15 foot long turned sideways and then folded in half trying to shake the hook and I was looking directly at it when it breached literally the coolest thing I had ever seen up to that point! The sad thing was they actually didn’t land it they got it up to the rail on the side of the pier and they tighten the drag down all the way which ended up snapping the line and there rod when the shark shook his head one more time and swim off..... The second one actually happened about four months ago in October I love spearfishing and I usually go out on Sunday afternoons with a few of my buddies and then cook up whatever we eat that day lotta fun anyway we had just gotten to our spot we were getting our Wet suits on and Shooting the breeze when a couple of legit spear fishers with their full body camouflage wetsuits and super long spearguns came walking up the road. me being the fisherman I am asked so how did y’all do today? and they said “we were targeting larger calico bass we didn’t see any of the bigger ones oh by the way the shark helicopter has been flying out there for the past hour and said that they had spotted a 12 footer right off the beach if you guys want to get in the water he’s there just so you know” sooooooo us being the dumb 20 year olds we were we went in and Spearfished for about four hours in about 20 or 25 foot water water needless to say we did pretty good that day got a lot of good fish but on our way in I was the first one to hit the beach and when I was in about 5 feet of water I flipped over on my back stood up then sat down with a wave so it would take me in and when I sat down and went underneath the wave I actually did see the great White just cruising along north to south about 15 feet away for me and yeah he was every bit of 12 feet😂😂 I crapped my pants and got on the beach
