For those too young to have enjoyed this masterpiece; Aliens give a regular guy a Super Hero suit. They tell him to do good with it. He immediately loses the operating instructions and doesn’t know how to work it. Each episode he finds out a new power that the suit gives him, but can’t control it. . The last Shazam movie totally stole this plot device. . The guy was a high school teacher. His partner was a washed up FBI Agent. His girl was Connie Sellica. Boom! Classic.

I watched this show every week. I loved the theme song (and still do). On Seth MacFarlane's Family Guy, Peter Griffin said that the most amazing thing about the show, "Greatest American Hero" is that after 40-years and only three seasons on the air, the show is still remembered because of this song.

For those too young to remember this show, the premise was that aliens gave a super suit to the main character, Ralph (a teacher) because he was judged to be of great moral character and wouldn't use the suit for his own gains. The problem, he lost the instructions that came with the suit, so he didn't know how to take off or land properly or even know all the powers that the suit had. He would accidentally discover different powers, but he couldn't control them properly. With today's technology, this show would make a great re-boot!

The cheeriest, brightest most happy fella type theme song -- didn't watch the show but the kids did and they liked it. Later saw the episodes - patriotic, law respecting, decent to the max ANF even self deprecating and funny. A good show -- representative of the 80s to me - the last decade of decency and love of Country. They lasted until the era of Clinton.
