It's game development. The April fools snapshot contains things that do not need to be approved by the higher ups before they get added to the game. While the normal base mc have to have things that get approved therefore taking way more time to be added and there are constraints unlike the April fools snapshot that is unoptimized and just jumbled up.

This April fools joke just goes to show that the developers are perfectly capable of adding great things to Minecraft but they don’t in order to pull on the heart strings of patient and supportive players. The Floatater and the Grappling Hook are absolute genius idea’s to add and the fact that they *won’t* is absolutely ridiculous.

Fun fact: the floatater push limit is a 32 block tall cube, as long as the structure you build (floatater included) is not bigger than 32 blocks in any direction, you can floatate it
