Theory: “You’ll die if you go on that Island” Disease that Usopp lied about is real with Mihawk and Crocodile catching it when Cross Guild gets close to luaghtale. Buggy doesn’t continue because he afraid to not have his muscle with him to beat the other pirate crews after it, his subordinates see it as Buggy caring more for his crew then the treasure, and Buggy is seen as the one who could have gotten the One Piece first but didn’t like White Beard. Making Buggy the White Beard to Luffy’s Roger.

Theres a reason why Roger is never shown in Alabasta even though we know Roger took the same route as Luffy through Paradise both times. The reason is that Buggy is a member of the nefertari royal bloodline and they picked him up there. This ALSO makes him a D.

Literally the only thing even suggesting he dyes his hair is stampede, a non canon movie where he's just randomly blonde. Considering he had blue hair with blue roots after being in prison for months, his natural hair color is probably blue.

Rocks is silhouetted because he's Dragon's father. Garp adopted him to keep his identity secret when he joined the Marines. The Koby storyline tells you the marines dont recruit from notorious criminals and even their families are barred. The entire secret twist is that Luffy is Rocks' blood. This is why Woop Slap asks "is it his dream or his destiny" to be a pirate and why Garp is so insanely against Luffy being a pirate.

I think maybe buggy’s nose can be due to rocks poison if he indeed has a power like that. Maybe in rocks vs roger fight he poisoned roger somehow with his power and thats why roger died. If Buggy can't go on to Laughtale because of illness due to magnetism the Cross Guild would have to pick up a hell of a doctor. And didn't Law just lose a serious battle against Blackbeard? And hasn't the Cross Guild made a habit of recruiting ex-Warlords? Just imagine the scene of Buggy in a wax litter trying and failing to get up to go to Laughtale and all the Crossguild weeping and being stupid and maybe even Mihawk being impressed by Buggy trying to will himself to go forward and then Law just walks in and Rooms it away with Buggy's S-Tier luck stat. Of course this does focus Blackbeard on the Cross Guild, because he wants the OP Devilfruit.

thats such an interesting idea!! Blackbeard and his crew (which are my favorites :3), are such wild cards in the story. And i love it soo much.., the could do like anything and it would be totally okay. kill law? yea i see it. find pluton..? mhm yeah he would. it is soo possible that he could take advantage of the cross guild, like he did with the marines and W-G. he could also free characters like doffy (unlikely, hold on im going somewhere), or kill a bunch of captains that we've seen, or at least capture them. we've seen him already have intentions of siding with the world government, and, if he moved up the chain, he could overthrow the celestial dragons..,,,, his dream is world domination, and with them down, potentially with an ally in doffy to infiltrate marygeois, AAAaaa you guys get what i mean? literal genius i love one piece praise oda 🙏😭

The Rocks theory is really fun. Between the charisma comparison, wild hair, and the stretched smile in the silhouettes similar to how Buggy can smile big, too... It's pretty believable. Plus the timeline all lines up, as well. It's also really in line with how Oda would write Buggy since he's still around, and perfectly wraps up Buggy's character and origin, too. All this time, his luck was really the will of D, and he stumbled ass-backwards through his father's footsteps at every turn. His connections to other great pirates were echoes of his legacy, and he never knew. My hope is that if this is true, Buggy never finds out and is blissfully unaware of his heritage. I love stuff like that, like Hohenheim being the philosopher of legend in FMA and no one in the story ever found out.

Two idle thoughts as far as Buggy’s rise goes. -Buggy IS taking finding Laugh Tale seriously now. While his Falling Upwards trend will still continue, I think One Piece is a story that’ll respect the fact that he’s finally locked in and is going to do what he can. -‘Pirate King’ is a title that was invented by the media, a status achieved specifically by reaching Laugh Tale and finding the one piece. There technically isn’t anything really stopping multiple people from claiming the title, and we still don’t know what specifically Luffy hopes to achieve with it. The glamour and infamy that comes with the title will suit Buggy well while I think Luffy won’t care all that much for fame or godhood or whatever else as long as he’s managed to do what he needs to. Buggy will be the perfect sort to wear the king’s crown even if Luffy will definitely beat him to Laugh Tale and do the actual most important things a pirate king needs to do. I’m also interested in what Buggy actually does to find the Poneglyphs, and the fact that his route to finding them will actually be surprisingly smooth besides the fourth one. Former Roger pirates would absolutely be welcomed warmly on Zou and in Wano, Totto Land is an actual mess right now. They’ll be easy pickings and, interestingly enough, the only location-confirmed Road Poneglyph Shanks DIDN’T get from Kidd is Zou’s. Will this be the site of their confrontation?

Buggy is genuinely a decent fighter with great physical strength, as seen in impel down. He uses the blugori axes like they weigh the same as a piece of paper. He was a fighter equal to shanks as an apprentice on Rogers crew. I think despite him being a joke the vibe is that if he had haki he would be a truly strong fighter. Before haki existed to the audience he was a genuine threat, and only seems like a joke in comparison with the other villains and Luffy. But all he needs is a little haki (which he absolutely does now that his dreams of being pirate king returned) and a devil fruit awakening (also possible). I know nobody likes it, but I'm very convinced that Buggy will be an actual threatening presence end of series. He's an important character. It's not a joke.

Buggy is Rocks' son, however Rocks was NOT a fraud, he was legimately powerful, the common theme in One Piece isn't to really highlight how biological parent and child are similar, rather it's show how they're DIFFERENT since showing how two genetically related people are different is one Oda's absolute favorite writing decisions. Oden was a fearless behemoth of a monster even from birth whilst his son Momo was essentially born as a normal kid that had fears most children his age do, Yamato is the child of Kaido yet stands against everything Kaido stands for, Sanji's morals are the polar opposite of his father's morals, though similar to Roger in some aspects Ace's entire story was still about walking his own divergent path, even going as far as to deny the "Gol D." name, Katakuri was a calm leveled protective figure to his family whilst Big Mom was abrasive and often cruel to her family. Dragon and Garp though similar in some aspects ultimately contrast in the sense that Garp works for the World Government whilst Dragon seeks to tear down the World Government, even with Dragon and Luffy we see a contrasts, Luffy is a brash person who'll jump head first into battle without a plan just to save one singular person close to him, Dragon on the other hand is a calm minded person who only acts when the plan is right, not willing to betray this motto even if someone close to him is taken. If Garling truly is Shanks' biological father then that'd be another parent-child contrast, so based on this Buggy's father would have to be someone who CONTRAST him, rather some who is the same as him, so that's why it's a better fit if Rocks' was actually super strong, since you'd have Rocks D. Xebec this nigh-allpowerful pirate who rose to fame due to the legimatcy of his insane strength, whilst his son Buggy is a weakling who only became famous thanks to sheer luck. It's the perfect parent-child contrast to match the already long list of children contrasting their biological parents.

Blackbeards ship being called the Saber of Xebec added to how hard the idea was being pushed, but it it interesting why he would have been not shown in Kumas flashback unless there was a good reason for it. considering how they are probably dead. or we would assume they are. As for the promise of buggy going to Raftel, maybe some weird twist of events will have him go with luffy. not only giving buggys past closure. but would help give buggy reason to acknowledge luffy as pirate king. which goes back to buggy being the first real villain that told him it was impossible. and luffy lived up to the meaning of the hat. it would be quite a heart warming scenario if done right.

Makes total sense when you say cross guild is the modern rocks pirates. “Those who don’t understand history and doomed to repeat it”. The World government hides the history of the Rocks pirates from the world, so the world inadvertently creates its own version of it… the cross guild… the combination of very powerful pirates to counter the oppressive World Government by placing bounties on their troops.

I gotta say, this was a REALLY well but together video man, you did a fantastic job with this one and also the Thumbnail for this video looks incredibly dope, shoutout to whoever the artist is. There are some minor things I have some disagreements on though, for starters I personally don't think that Buggy was born on Loadstar Island, I think was born on Hachinosu a.k.a Pirate Island, not just because it'd be the most convenient place for him to be born if Rocks truly is his father like I believe, but because thematically and poetically it fits for this to be the place where Buggy was born. Just like you said Buggy is someone who truly embodies what it means to be a pirate, you have that chapter where Buggy was chastising Mihawk and Crocodile about what being a pirate truly entails, you have the fact that he was born on a pirate ship potentially since baby-hood, he's obsessed with money and loot like a pirate, he likes to party and drink just like a pirate, he has the desire to chase after the ultimate ambition just like a pirate and the to top it off you have the fact that his favourite hobby is literally collecting treasure maps, the most pirate centric thing ever, it doesn't get any more "piratey" than this. So what better birthplace for someone who truly embodies the spirit of what it means to be a pirate than 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑶𝒇 𝑷𝒊𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔, it's almost too poetic to not be the case in my opinion, the 𝐏𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐎𝐟 𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐮.

Great theory, it would check off so many boxes!! i love the idea of roger being so disgusted that rocks abandoned buggy on lodestar, or worse was using him in some way like a compass, that roger went full papa bear on rocks when they were at god valley. i wonder how eustass kid would react to an island like lodestar if he's able to get there. maybe he's been getting subtly pulled to lodestar from his fruit like its a homing beacon this entire time?

My personal belief is that when Shanks made Buggy accidently eat the Devil Fruit, Buggy wasn't upset because he no longer had it to sell, and could no longer swim, in addition, but, rather, he envisioned himself to be the next Gol D. Roger, if not surpass him... meaning, no Devil Fruits. Now, he was cheating, and that dream would never come true.

random thought what if at the end of one piece both luffy and buggy use their full awakened devil fruit to reshape the world as it should be, using buggys power to split the land and luffys to pull them together, reshaping the landmass into one piece
