I really waited for you to mention the magic word "Melawis Char Kueh Teow"! Yes I grew up in Melawis, Klang eating this char kueh Teow. I am 65 years this year and I have been eating his kueh teow since the age of 15 !. It is the very best keuh Teow one can find in this region including Singapore and Thailand and I can vouch for it. I can recognise the 83 years old uncle who fries the char Kueh Teow. God has blessed him long life!. I will travel this week to try his char Kueh Teow again.

I grew up eating this uncle's char koay tiao and I'm 56 already. This ckt stall is legendary. There is also another ckt stall in Port Klang which is equally old and legendary, the stall is at the Medan selera near the Port Klang air buah van.

This shop is close to ACS Klang and MGS Klang, right next to the shop is the childhood cybercafe i used to went don't really know if it's still functioning. Actually quite shocked to know Logesh went to Melawis/Teluk Pulai for this CKT since he lives in Taman Selatan/Chi Leong area. That place is kinda hidden from the public and sacred in residential so only legend knows this place.

Coming from Penang myself, I cannot accept this being the best ckt in the country. Please come to Penang to try real and authentic ckt !!! PEnang should be the only place to get ckt honestly. Other places never gets it the right way !!! Do a food tour in Penang Kumar Familyyy !

Ya laaa....my Penang friend never approve of any of the food in Shah Alam until Nasi Lan Kedah opened its branch at Alam Avenue (Padang Jawa Shah Alam). She has been staying in Shah Alam at that particular time for 2 yrs !! It's a Malay version of nasi kandar. Go try it Kumaar !!

I think we should not judging their personal interest in food. No one denying the facts that Penang is the food heaven in Malaysia, but a decent chef can create their delicious version of ckt and it suits to Kumar family's palate. Example I am a Kelantanese but since I like cooking, o M learnings other States food as well and my family Said they're all delicious.

I used to do the same thing when taking my son for his haircut when he was about Kye kye's age. My son is 27 years old now and resides in USA We used to go to the same barbershop as we were staying near there (walking distance). Now we stay in Lorong Merlimau at Jalan Mengkuang and frequently have our char kuehtiaw at the uncle's shop in Melawis. And, YES....his is the best. During his early days he used to use charcoal fire ....that gave the kueh tiaw the umph..

Is this the same Taman Melawis char koay teow sold by an uncle in the 1970s at the open space corner of the row of the existing shophouses? That was the best char koay teow I have ever eaten. In front of the shophouses is the taman field where all the kids of all races would meet to play football in the evening after school or weekends. Those days were sold in the evening till finished at night and there would a long wait as each plate or tarpau is fried individually. Those were the days. Will try it one day when I am back visiting Klang. Thanks Kumaar and family.
