In this position it is important to cover what happens if the Queen captures the Knight on f4 because the pawn is pinned. Black recaptures the queen on e1, and it appears black gets his material back because he captures the bishop in the end on g6. The caveat is that there is a rook fork of black's king and bishop in the end, staying ahead in material.

Thanks for pointing that out! This was an important (and, frankly, disappointing) omission of the video, considering that Qxf4 looks like an "obvious" response... (the fork being much less obvious to weak players like me who cannot visualise the board)

Jason Doe Yes obvious but simply losing after exf4 Rxe1 Rxe1...White is an exchange up in that position... If you take the bishop on g6 then comes Re8+ and Rxc8 and so on.

Very insightful, interesting analysis! Bg6!! was really confusing until these ideas were made clear.

instead of retreating the knight from h5, black should have considered Qf2 with threats against the center pawns and white's king is not so safe anymore.

Audio issue, sounds like a vacuum was turned on nearby the mic. Please figure out where that sound is coming from so your audio is more clear.

It seems that castling too early seems to often be exploited since the opponent know knows where to focus his attack

Hello sir. My name is Pankit. I m playing chess since 2 years. I am more kind of self taught, not taking any training. I recently participated in a chess tournament of 7 rounds and couldn't make it in any one of it. I m feeling really shameful as I was the only one with null in point table. In most games i was dominating my opponent but often made a silly mistake. I realized there that my chess level is severely low. I want to improve so badly. Can u guide me how and where should I go. I m not taking any kind of coaching.

so, why can't the queen sacrifice for the knight while opening for an exchange?? that way black wins a white bishop
