Thank you for sharing this remarkable catalogue. It is wonderful to see so many artifacts from film and television productions survived and were not just thrown away when the productions ended.

Gene Roddenberry was a Genius for coming out with a wonderful Television Series which he should of called Space The Final Frontier but the title it self was too long to advertise so he had to come up with a idea just to get our attention and sure enough a catch phrase that would be just right for his Television Series and there it was Star Trek now I had to wonder about the word called Trek that Gene came out and when I looked up the word on what it means it makes good sense. I remember watching this series when I was a child way back into the 60s and all the way threw my school days and still as a Adult I enjoy watching the episodes and let’s not forget all about the movies they were great to watch and before I close this message I think Gene did the right thing just by picking out the cast that he wanted to be on his show. It’s Sad Gene passed away But! he gave us a show to watch over and over and over again

Thanks for your fantastic information about a great show! I started watching in the 1970s when the show was in syndication and have been hooked ever since!

I always wanted to meet him, my friends that knew him said he was a great guy. I always get a laugh out of his work in Flesh Gordon, so many people who became giants in VFX worked on that film. Those guys were all friends, geeks like the rest of us. But they helped define our love for sci-fi, and film in general. I found it fascinating meeting some of those guys, only to find they are no different than any of us. Only they figured out how to get paid for their passions. :) Years ago someone did do a studio scale Raider from 1980. But I do not know if it became a kit. In the garage kit world things get very murky, unless you know who to talk to. Even then...

I was lucky enough to see this collection at Heritage Auctions in Dallas! Oh, it was so amazing to see in person! The catalog was already sold out when I went, and had to find one on eBay a few months later.

I think the Buck Rogers Thunderfighter is the best looking starfighter in all Sci-Fi. When a kid I had the Mego Thunderfighter toy and always use it for either Han or Leia to fly into a dog fight next to Luke’s X-Wing because I loved it so much.

I loved the Cinefex article from back when it was new that covered his SFX work. I actually edited it together with some other Star Trek articles they did in the first few issues.

Cinefex magazine is probably where I learned the most about Greg Jein back in the early '80s. I especially love the photograph of him working on the miniature model set (with the stop sign) for Close Encounters. His miniature model work for Steven Spielberg's 1941 is beautiful especially the amusement park.

I can't remember if you have covered this but have you seen the video titled "Behind the Scenes of Battlestar Galactica1978" ? The home video footage from Dave Berry. He had worked with ILM on Star Wars as well as early Apogee on Battlestar Galactica when it first started and they were making the 2-hour movies before they started the individual episodes. It's lots of great behind the scenes footage of them working on the effects like on the ice planet. It also shows a lot of silliness of the crew playing with the cameras and having fun while creating great effects. There are two videos one on Star Wars and then there's one on Battlestar Galactica which both feature lots of easter eggs if you know what you're looking for. Love your channel keep up a great work.

That book is amazing, when I first saw it I thought it was just some stuff that he had worked on that was being auctioned off. I didn't realize it was from his own personal collection of things he liked. Was there anything in the catalog from the film Dark Star, which he also worked on?
