Issac’s average finish was 16th. Calvin’s worst finish was 16th.

You seem to use the best player and greatest season interchangeably, and I don't think the two are necessarily the same. Calvin is my #1 for the best player of 2023 while Isaac is #1 for the greatest season. I agree that anyone would take Isaac's season over Calvin's in a heartbeat; two major wins with today's field is something to be remembered. But Isaac also had some poor performances where he was nowhere near the top while Calvin played with crazy high consistency.

I can see an argument for Calvin not being number 1 but he would then be an easy number 2 as he was by far the best AND most consistent player. 3 wins and only like 2 events with out a podium counts for a lot even if the other players have just 1 more event win.

People will remember Calvin as the best player in 2023 because of the talent. It's about putting on a show and backing it up.with the leader board. If it was just about wins and major titles Simon wouldn't be a house hold name.

2 majors including a Worlds, yes, I can accept the subjective argument to put Isacc as the one with the best season in 2023. But Calvin is the #1 player with the statistically best season by a long shot, and him not getting a 1B or at minimum a #2 is silly. Calvin has 15!, yes 15 podiums. And so many seem discount them, or even have the podium finishes counted against him instead of for him, as though it's proof he failed to win vs. another notch on his belt for an exceptional tournament performance.

I don't think that you need to win the biggest events to have the best overall season. Just like in every other sport, being the MVP of the season does not mean that you also won the biggest event. Plenty of players in the NFL or NBA rightfully earn the MVP of the year without winning a championship. They didn't win the biggest event, but they DID string together the most impressive season. If you had to pick, obviously you'd like to be able to say that you were the WORLD CHAMPION for the year, but that doesn't mean that you were the best player of the year - it just means that you peaked at the right time. When determining who the player of the YEAR is, I think it's most important to consider their entire year, and total stats. As a final analogy, the 2007 New England Patriots went 18-0 up until the Super Bowl. They most certainly had the best season of the year, and I think everyone agrees that they were the best team that season, and had an all-time great resume for the year. But, they lost the Super Bowl to the Giants, who got hot at the right time. Nobody thinks that the Giants had a more impressive season just because they won the Super Bowl. Most people would rather win a Super Bowl, but that doesn't mean that they were the best team of the season. Tom Brady was rightfully the MVP of 2007, and not winning the Super Bowl didn't change that.

I think the MPO player of the year should be Natalie Ryan. Not because of performance. But because that dude figured out how to compete in a category that is much easier for men. He is thinking smarter, not harder😂

Kristin Tattar was definitely accomplished the most in 2023. If this is an all players list, she should definitely be in it

I think that Calvin should be #2. I don’t think he would trade seasons with Gannon but I do think Calvin would trade with Isaac. I think Isaac had the best resume this year but I think Calvin played the best disc golf this year. Gannon while impressive would be third on my list.

I think if I were to use stats/probabilities and have money on the line with real consequences, Calvin would be my pick. Otherwise it’s easy to just choose anyone based on subjective reasons.
