It is the 7th Anniversary of Game 7 of the 2016 World Series featuring the Chicago Cubs vs the Cleveland Indians. Two troubled franchises; Enduring the longest Championship droughts in ALL of Major U.S. Sports HISTORY
Reliving and Breaking-down the iconic moments from Rajai Davis' game tying home run, David Ross' last game, Ben Zobrist's go-ahead RBI double and everything in between to create the Most INSANE Game in Baseball History

I was about 12 when this happened. I remember literally every restaurant with a tv had this game on with so many people watching it. I’ve never seen so many people watching a baseball game in my entire life. I am now 27, and married with kids. Thank you gomer for bringing this memory back❤

As a Cubs fan looking back 7 years later when the Chicago Cubs made that final out I literally cried with so many tears and emotions, now in 2023 our team sucks and our best players are leaving the franchise but you never know what can happen? Go Cubbies!!💙❤️🐻

I live in des moines, iowa, where the cubs have their AAA farm team, the iowa cubs, so most people here are cubs fans or Cardinals fans. I've been a lifelong cubs fan for about 20 years, and i was so happy to finally see them win 🏆

Im a CWS fan about 16 at the time and remember sitting and watching this game with my brother and grandma. Watching them get that final out sent shivers down my spine and my first thought was that I had to deal with all these Cubs fans at school tomorrow… lets just say I didnt hear the end of it. However, seeing a Chicago team bring home a championship is always something to celebrate. Go Chitown baby

It’s good to hear that this game was exciting for unbiased baseball fans, too. I’m a lifelong Cubs fan so to say that this was the biggest game I’ve ever watched is an understatement. It was the biggest ANYTHING I’ve ever witnessed. It was also the most stressful 5 hours of my life. I was living in Tokyo at the time and flew into the States to watch the Cubs play in the World Series in Chicago. In order to make my flight back to Tokyo from LAX I had to leave Chicago after Game 6 to watch Game 7 in Vegas. I watched it in the sports book at the Excalibur and was so utterly stressed out during the whole game that I was drinking double-fisted - a straight whisky in one hand and a Sam Adams in the other - and chain smoking throughout the entire game. As a lifelong Cubs fan I never felt comfortable, even when the Cubbies were up big early. And as much as I drank I never really got drunk. At the time it was kind of torture. (Until KB threw to Rizzo to recorded the final out, of course.) But relief and joy followed. I had a few hours to kill before my flight from Vegas to LA and I played poker for a few hours - the Excalibur still had a poker room at that time - and won about 500 bucks. I was still wearing my Cubs gear of course and everyone was congratulating me at the table and at the airports. It’s been 7 years since then and I still get chills when I watch the final out and videos like this one. It was torturous at the time but in retrospect I can enjoy watching the highlights as a baseball fan and sports fan. And in retrospect, I have to think, “could it have been any other way?” Of course it could’ve been a blowout (and was even looking like it was turning into one in the middle innings) but the rest of the baseball world wouldn’t still be talking about it if it had been. All the stars aligned for this one.

My sister in law had to pee so bad. They were bringing in Montgomery. I say to her "you got time"....she missed it. I still get grief from her to this day.

I watched this too, great game. Was rooting for the Cubs (even though I’m a Yankees fan) and was happy I did

I’ve been a Cubs fan since 1967 when I was 5 years old, living in Downers Grove, IL. This game was surreal.

No other game in all of sports had me feeling like I was having a heart attack more than this one

I really thought after the Rajai Davis home run that the cubs were gonna lose the game. Especially after the cubs failed to score in the top half of the 9th my heart couldn’t handle the stress and emotions. But when they made it to extras my hope was renewed. After the final out I couldn’t have been more joyful in my life.

I remember how CRAZY this game was. Imagine what it was like without the rain delay. This was also the second year I had gotten more into MLB, being more invested in the Cubs (as I had gone to Wrigley Field that year). I remember being so sad because of the back to the future thing being wrong when I was 14 at the time.

I was at this game. The Davis HR remains the most surreal moment of my albeit short life thus far (i'm 21 and was a freshman in high school in the Cleveland area when I went). I wrote my college essay about it and have generally been obsessed ever since

what a lot of people dont know about david ross' last ab is that his home run was his last official at bat. after that he walked (which is an unofficial at bat)
