Al, that was one of the best edited videos you have ever done. Smiled from start to finish. Think you hit a golf club somewhere in there😊.

Hi Al, love the channel! If I’m not mistaken he didn’t switch to Nike driver until 2002, and was still using the Titleist 975D for Tiger Slam…that club should be in the running for best of all time. I think his win total was 23, including 5 majors, with 975D in the bag (1998-2001)

Was going to comment the same thing!
@alexetchesgolf7 ай бұрын
I thought so too until a WITB check
@philkrundel27287 ай бұрын
Perhaps comment was hidden due to adding URLs, but a quick google search of WITB will 100% confirm that he had the 975D for the Tiger SlaM (1998-2001) pretty sure it makes it the winningest club in his bag his whole career after his Cameron putter

The Goat debate of Jack vs Tiger is the same as LeBron vs MJ. Longevity over peak. Most people still consider MJ's peak to be of greater value than LeBrons longevity and think the same when it comes to Tigers peak vs Jacks longevity

I don't remember that driver tbh. I remember the Covert with the chunk out of it and the square effort. Nike drivers off memory were never well received even though Tiger was using one. Again, off memory they offered very little in mere mortals hands

Just shows how modern technology has change performances - maybe a couple of yards, but no more. Wake up R&A and PGA - it's the players that are making the difference.

I remember when i bought my first "Giant Driver" it was the Cobra 360 and we all laughed about how absurd it looked on the tee box. We nicknamed it the Garden Shovel and it was a game changer!!! Then i made the big move into one of the long driver faves the Taylormade 510 with a Penley XX shaft!!! The stuff we have now is just night and day better

Gamed it. Loved it. Up until just about 4 years ago, I gamed a Nike driver since the blue one. Ignite, Covert, Vapor Fly. Would have loved to have seen their unreleased carbon crowned driver!

Agree early post Jack is the GOAT as for comments about the strength of the fields Jack played against they might want have a closer look at the players from his era. There's also the good old technology argument as well. Tiger had access to clubs most of the rest of the players didn't .
@alexetchesgolf7 ай бұрын
"Tiger had access to clubs most of the rest of the players didn't" that is so not true. Sorry

Michael Jordan vs LeBron discussion. Higher peak vs longevity. Most people still think MJ and think the same about tiger
@robchisholm26977 ай бұрын
Just look at world no1 title Tiger was the No1 golfer consecutively for 2 blocks both 4+ YEARS long unbroken not another single golfer broke either of those epic runs of TOTAL world domination. 2nd place Greg Norman who had a block 300 weeks long. 1st place smidge under 500 weeks daylight 2nd place 300weeks Greg Norman. Next best is less than 50..If that doesn't scream GOAT. 18majors certainly doesn't. IMHO anyway
@arthurcooper22367 ай бұрын
Those figures are correct but I don't believe they had World Rankings during Jack's heyday so I don't know how anyone can compare based on World Rankings
@techvelo7 ай бұрын
Yeah I hate the sound of new drivers, they just have a thud sound. I bought a Krank Pro driver a couple years ago and fell in love with the sound of it and then I got a Paradyme Triple Diamond to compare against it and hated it's thud sound and it didn't hit as far as the Krank either. I hit my personal record drive of 419yds with the Krank driver. (We'll disregard that it was downhill and downwind and landed in another fairway.)
@whocares39867 ай бұрын
Stop calling Tiger the GOAT. That's Jack, and will be until someone beats or ties the 18.

@whocares39867 ай бұрын
@@bluenose8442 I do think Tiger could have caught Jack and possibly passed him if it weren't for injuries and personal problems.
@whocares39867 ай бұрын
@geoffcox9582 You still have to beat the 18. Tiger himself said it many times in early interviews that you have to beat the 18 to be the best. He may feel different now that he hasn't done it.
