Hello it's might abit late to reply but depend on your playstyle, your pawn will try to mimic you it's might be a weird machenic for some but it's actually pretty cool for me, since if you're getting good at the game your pawn will be too, of course if you want them to reach to your level you have to teach them how to do that first by using the same class as them then play as how you want them to play. For example if you play as strider and your pawn are one too then, when you play very offensive like spam slot of 1 skill they will do that too, if you jump and climb on monster alot they will too but it will still be inclination which affect their behavior too, for example you usually use healing/buffing/arrow types alot and your pawn have utilitarian inclination they will use those alot of times given if they have those in their bags it's very useful for group heal items. But it's all optional if youre willing to improve your pawn you will have to take care of them :"p
