​@@mushurick4633 It won't. At least not in the way it is in DD1. The other hybrid vocation of fighter will probably use a shield, but the question is what it will be paired with. Mage is already out of the question due to Mystic Spearhand. So it's either archer, thief or one of the two yet to be revealed base vocations that are probably from the beast realm. Personally, it'd love to have a hybrid of fighter and archer. A vocation that uses heavy shields and a repeating crossbow would be pretty fun.

Speaking for myself, mystic spearhand at a glance looks very nice, but the play style of relying on a large magical shield and various elemental riposte to which the knights could use to enchant their shield to me is much more fun.. Rather than single encompassing telekinesis shield..

I did not know perfect blocks would automatically target the enemy no matter how far away it is, quite amazing that the ballista parry managed to electrocute the goblins on the other side of shadow fort.

most have a range limit, they're essentially the level 2 version of their respective spells, High Levin, High Ingle, and the second part of High Frazil. since the ice one has a very short range, and the fire one has a longer but still limited range, the thunder riposte is essentially the longest range attack then mystic knight has access too

If you haven't, no shop run is super fun and has some unique problems to solve for veterans with lots of normally useless game knowledge. All those gather points that aren't worth searching? suddenly drop you all kinds of cool gear, and every run is equipped and specced uniquely as opposed to buying _the usual_ from caxton or hitting BBI. Love the ruleset, and seeing people play this masterwork

the best part of getting hide armor at the start of the game is that when upgraded fully from the tutorial cyclops rugged bone its physical defense makes it outclass most armors till you get to the end game and even then because its so light its still good to use till BBI armors.

This was nuts. I tried this challenge a while back, but allowed myself to use items in general and unarmed attacks. However, I had discovered that you do not need to shoot the ballista at all in Grigori's fight. Any damage triggers the scene, including arrows, magic arrows, spells, etc. I never managed to counter any of his attacks, so I had to shoot the ballista anyways. But maybe you could have done it!
