My uncles has a plane like this and we’ve taken off from a random long patch of dirt in their backyard that the cut the grass on that was most definitely not flat. And then flew to an airport that I swear had a gravel runway, although it may have been paved and just had gravel taxiways

Dirt and gravel runways are not uncommon. Most general aviation aircraft can land on them just fine. There’s certain landing procedures. You’d wanna do a soft field landing if it’s a little bit bumpy and potentially add a certain amount of percentage to your overall landing distance calculations, but it’s not out of the ordinary.

It was, it means throttle command

It was saying the r word. If the throttle is still on over the threshold then the airbus will ask the pilot to “retard” the throttles, or bring them back to idle

It means slow in French, so in aviation I assume it means to lower the engine speed or something similar. It's still really funny to think the plane thought they'd crash and die and just wanted to tell him how stupid he is before it exploded lol.
