so true. I will definitely show my little cousin pokemon:D hopefully she'll learn to respect pokemon... most of my friends HATE IT. i don't mind. Its a waste, since they would have me to trade pokemon with them, i would even be willing to give really rare pokemon and legendaries even (depends if i get something good back since i really usually hold on to legendaries) yeah thats why i wanna try to at least be able to play with SOME friends. I really hope what you think is true and people will actually do that:D (which most pokemon fans probably will)

I know right! I mean at least, any kind of first-person shooter. I will try to teach her the real spirit of games! The heart and soul (see what I did there? :P) in games, the nostalgia, the story, the MEANING. The moral, just everything! I might even go as far and make ROM hacks (I have no idea how to even use one though xD) just so my cousin can feel the true spirit of games. I would do anything to encourage people to play something with heart and soul, with spirit, with a story, a moral, and most of all: A deep meaning.

here's a funny story. My very first taste of the mainstream pokemon games was heartgold, with cyndaquil as my first ever pokemon. That game had me hooked. I couldn't believe i missed so much, especially since i was a little kid during gen 3. I resumed my pokemon journey from gold to diamond, to white, to platinum, and so on, even playing an emulator for pokemon red and gold. But I never touched hoenn. Well, i tried using an emulator, but it lagged a lot, so i never truly got into the hoenn games. then, after x and y came omega ruby and alpha sapphire. And this time, i didn't miss this opportunity. Now hoenn is my second favorite region, a close second to johto.

I have two older half-siblings. They are 7 & 8 years older than I am, I’m 27. When I was a kid, about 6-7 years old they became bored of the Game Boy & Pokemon & I kind of inherited it in a way. I remember at that time I had a bunk-bed with the sofa-bed style thing on the bottom in my bedroom & I would use the top bunk. My Mum would send me to bed & like 10-15 minutes later she’d come & check on me & turn the light off etc. She’d know that I’d have taken the GB upstairs & play it in that mean-time. When I’d hear her cresting the stairs & coming to my room I’d turn the volume slider down & shove it under my pillow. I remember a couple times it caught my pillowcase & turned up a little & she heard it & took it away. After that it was like a game we’d play where she would get mega close & listen for it. Looking back she should have just taken it because she obviously always knew it was there. I’ll make sure my kids know bed-time is bed-time, no technology. Good times though, the music was the true beauty of these games.

+Champion Trainer Isaac I agree...it was too ambient in a soulless kind of way (all the instruments were not articulated well--it sounded too soft and everything was forte; also barely any rhythm/bass where it counted took away from the appeal). There were several good compositions on the soundtrack, but they didn't have very great dynamics/articulation either. It all kind of just sounded blurred together. ovo;
