I've been a fan of The Lion since 1996 when I was 16, reading the Angels of Death Codex. I told myself then that I would have a Dark Angels army one day. It took about 27 years, but it's amazing to finally have it led by The Lion and to paint him myself. And for you to be able to bend your talents to produce two episodes, of more than an hour each, to express all the details we've acrued in that time, that's pretty amazing too. I'm glad I was there at the beginning of this franchise. I can appreciate the things we have today. Great job on this, I've enjoyed it very much!

The Lions story is so compelling, seeing his triumphs to the cracks showing at the start of the heresy have been so much fun to delve into. I can't wait for part 2 where the confrontation of The Lion and Guilliman begins, plus ending on his return to the 40k timeline. this is the only ever video ive seen that actually portraits the Lion the way i see him, most of the other youtubers(even major kill, that loves the lion) missinterprets alot of the lore for example his aloofness, wich to me is more that o one understands his genius and cant connect with him because hes above every one except malcador and the emperor for example, there was some minor faults according to me but WOW great job in summarising the Lion and grasping the cnspet of hom, i was mesmerised for the whole of the video, and the person doin the voice for the Lion was so much better then the one inmm his novels audiobooks for example Lion son of the forest, in that one he just sounded grupmy all the time, the voice u guys made for the lion was spot on as i imagine him myself. Whoa! I have never started listening to one of these live before. The commentary you insert outside the context of what you normally release is fantastic. It feels like “directors commentary”. At the same time it’s like a documentary of history with a subject like Julius Caesar. It’s delivered in a way that could be real.

What an interesting conversation that the Lion had with the Emperor about the Lion’s role in the Great Crusade. Rogal Dorn was the Praetorian of Terra. Leman Russ was the Emperor’s Executioner. The Lion was the Emperor’s Obliterator. And yet, at the same time, the Emperor also showed a massive blind spot in this conversation. He knew that some men required recognition and honor. Yet Perturabo craved that recognition, and the Emperor never gave it to him. It was that neglect that turned the Iron Lord to bitterness and betrayal.

I love the Lion. My fav novels in the Horus Heresy are the Dark Angels books. Those early days of his on Caliban are such a cool mix of sci-fi and medieval dark fantasy, my fav genres fused. The contrasting personalities of Lion, Guilliman and Sanguinius forming the Imperium Secundus are high points of the novels for me.

This has gone to the point where the gentleman who voices Konrad Curze is now my headcanon voice of the Primarch forever. I mean, it actually checks out. Essentially he was wracked by guilt and shame over failing to save the Emperor. He then returns home and is immediately fired upon by the fallen. So he reacts emotionally, immediately attacking back without thinking about it. Once he wakes up in 40k, he has time to actually think about his actions and realizes most of the Dark Angels on the planet were not aware Luthor atracked first, and thus as far as they knew they thought Lion attacked them first unprovoked. Thus he realized he acted too hastily without the full context of what was going on (had he first sent a broadcast down to Caliban, most of the Fallen would have probably immediately turned on Luthor and those loyal to him) and is thus accepting that mistake moving forward

Mmmmm...it doesn't feel the same...before it felt like I was listening to scribe of the 40k universe tell me more about the great figures of the galaxy. For anyone who has never been in an actual fight, with each man having very bad intentions, you'd be surprised how often it ENDS the exact same way it did in the book: One guy tackles or wraps-up the other guy, they briefly tussle as they fall down, and one of them ends-up getting a big advantage. In those moments, sometimes, just sometimes, fortune can be just as important as strength or skill. (Unless one person is just vastly superior in both of those regards.)
