The trouble is that these eugenicists did not know the difference between cultural traits, and biological traits. Almost all of the traits these eugenicists refer to, are a product of culture.

That is not true. A person inherits from his parents both their genes and their culture and nurture. These traits come intertwined from before birth until the day he/she dies, and there is almost no way to separate. Moreover - the more we know about the way our brain works - we find three is NO CLEAR LINE between "hardware" and "software" (body vs. mind, biology vs. culture etc.) If at all - recent science (and I mean real science, not "gender science" or "woke science") discovers more and more "mechanical" (in reality - electrical and chemical) structures of our "mind". like the "limbs" of our soul and persona. Read some Steven Pinker books for more on this. Eugenicists have a point, but that point is wrong on several fronts (again - read "the blank slate" from prof. Pinker for his arguments on this. I think denying the differences between people, is plain stupid. Also between "races" (which in reality - are just large families). Researching these differences is fascinating, despite the "racist" tagging of any such research. Personally, I believe in large gene pools, with real variations, for the sake of evolutional success. If everyone would be similar (genetically and culturally) then the first "disease" (or enemy) well suited to hit them - will finish humanity for good. The diversity is a GOOD thing even if it itches a lot. I'd even dare say there's no "GOOD" here, but "GOOD FOR..." and saying "Chinese are better suited for studying" or "Africans are more suited for rhythm and music and basketball" doesn't really make me uneasy. Even the BAD things they say about "races" and ethnicities are OK. As long we know this is STATISTICS and not any personal trait - we could still judge each person according to their own personal traits, which is good enough.

Yes just because other humans say you were intellectual... Is not necessarily make it snow so! Ultimately, these men, and anyone who thinks like them, are ultimately intellectually bankrupt. Judging an individual by his character, is not simply an idea! It is a behavior requiring a choice. And you either do it or you don't... The obvious answer to the dilemma is, if you don't you're a moron. Just like these men and many others. Actual wisdom is often called "common sense"... Another obvious misnomer 🤣🤣🤣🙏

Heere is what a black abolitionist wrote about black slave holders in the US before ANY of those men wrote a single word: "Alexander Crummell, a distinguished free African-American who had been educated at Cambridge, hardly exaggerated when he declared in 1862 that: “the opinion that the sufferings and the slavery of the Negro race are the consequence of the curse of Noah [is a] general, almost universal, opinion in the Christian world and is found in books written by learned men; and it is repeated in lectures, speeches, sermons, and common conversation. So strong and tenacious is the hold which it has taken upon the mind of Christendom, that it seems almost impossible to uproot it. Indeed, it is an almost foregone conclusion, that the Negro race is an accursed race, weighed down, even to the present, beneath the burden of an ancestral malediction."

@@ji8044What's your point? Here's a quote by Booker T. Washington in 1901, if we're just going to throw out random non sequitur quotes: "There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs - partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs." - Booker T. Washington, 1901

@@mimi21746 LOL The moment you try to pull the old "great party swap" argument, you've failed. LBJ didn't "enact civil rights," and the Dems almost unanimously voted against it, not only in '64 but in the late 50's as well. Furthermore, LBJ's support of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 came after his realization that black voters could be corralled as voter stock, as he famously stated, "I'll have them naggers voting Democrat for the next 200 years." He then instituted a policy where federal employees went door-to-door getting black mothers to become dependent on the federal government, thus destroying the black nuclear family in America. All this, however, has nothing to do with eugenicists, who belonged to the Progressive Party in the '20s, and the Democrat Party today, still calling themselves Progressives, and pushing for the sterilization of black mothers a'la Planned Parenthood. From the eugenicist Margaret Sanger, who gave speeches to the KKK, rallying support for her eugenics program, to the millions of black children murdered in utero today; there is one party who continues to support eugenics - the Progressive Party. Learn history. And you "liking" your own comments is pathetic and cringe. Just stop. Get some help.

Because, as much as I appreciate Sowell, he has always been a shill for Jewish ppl. "Sanger supposedly encountered Sadie Sachs, a Jewish immigrant who sparked her “awakening” to the necessity of birth control." Trotsky (Jewish) popularized the term racist/racism and it's a Communist strategy through and through to use race as a weapon against the west, which we're seeing now in real time. They also initiated first ever trans surgeries in Berlin, led by Hirschfeld. But Edward A Ross that Sowell does mention was anti-Jewish. Communism (✡️) and National Socialism are the polar opposites in racial superiority (white vs. Semitic), the bakers won the war and they run our society completely now. That explains the bias.

Before ANY of these men wrote a single word there were FOUR MILLION black slaves in the US alone. Sowell's works are usually deliberate misinformation but this is one of his worst lies. Here is what Thomas Jefferson had to say in 1784, before any of these men WERE BORN" "Comparing them by their faculties of memory, reason, and imagination, it appears to me, that in memory they are equal to the whites; in reason much inferior, as I think one could scarcely be found capable of tracing and comprehending the investigations of Euclid; and that in imagination they are dull, tasteless, and anomalous. . . . [N]ever yet could I find that a black had uttered a thought above the level of plain narration; never see even an elementary trait of painting or sculpture. In music they are more generally gifted than the whites with accurate ears for tune and time, and they have been found capable of imagining a small catch. . . . . . . I advance it therefore as a suspicion only, that the blacks, whether originally a distinct race, or made distinct by time and circumstances, are inferior to the whites in the endowments both of body and mind."

I'm sure you want that to be true... but no. It is humans, always the humans. Humans of every race, class, gender, political view, or any other grouping... a certain percentage of every one of these groups can be nasty, unethical, or outright evil. The only thing that matters is when a demographic is in a position of power or influence... and then the nasty ones become dangerous. Pretending that it is "the other guys" only is delusional.

Something of an eye-opener. None of this taught in schools or universities, but is the bedrock of society's current woes. This also sheds some light on why the US was unwilling to support allies abroad, being obsessed by its own internal conflicts and interests. It disgusts now, or would do if it was more widely known. But this information is smothered. More people need to be exposed to Sowell's publications.

Galton produced over 340 papers and books. He also developed the statistical concept of correlation and widely promoted regression toward the mean. He was the first to apply statistical methods to the study of human differences and inheritance of intelligence, and introduced the use of questionnaires and surveys for collecting data on human communities, which he needed for genealogical and biographical works and for his anthropometric studies. He was a pioneer of eugenics, coining the term itself in 1883, and also coined the phrase "nature versus nurture". His book Hereditary Genius (1869) was the first social scientific attempt to study genius and greatness.

"At times, defenders of slavery simply ignored inconvenient sections of the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures. What has come to be known as “The Slave Bible” illustrates this. Published in London in 1807, its full title is Select Parts of the Holy Bible, for the use of the Negro Slaves in the British West-India Islands. In presenting the Books of Moses, the Slave Bible leaps from the end of Genesis 45, where Jacob learns that Joseph, the son he had thought to be dead was actually alive in Egypt and the right-hand man of Pharaoh, to Exodus 19, where, under the leadership of Moses, Israel receives the Ten Commandments. Totally missing from the Slave Bible is story of the enslavement of the Hebrews after Joseph’s death, and the rise of Moses as God’s spokesman sent overturn this slavery and to order Pharaoh “to let my people go.” The letters of Paul fare no better. For defenders of slavery, Galatians 3: 28 contains an inconvenient message: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” The Slave Bible handles this passage by ignoring it, skipping from chapter one Galatians to chapter five." Notice that 1807 was before any of the men in the video were even born

You left out the African kings, they were the ones who enslaved and sold all the blacks to the Middle East and Turkey, which they have been doing for over 700 years. In comparison, the small number of black slaves the Europeans legally purchased and brought to America, still shows the horrid racism Africans showed to their own people for over a thousand years. And the Barbary pirates, Black North African Pirates, kidnapped and sold over a million white Europeans to Africa, turkey and the middle east from the 1400's to the 1700's. They had no knowledge of the mechanism of inheritance, but despite their ignorance, they were confident about the "remedies" that they prescribed -- which would affect millions of people. (Does anyone remember a more recent "remedy" that was imposed on millions of people -- without clear understanding of the consequences?)

@@jackdeniston59 -- They couldn't prove that behavior was heritable. They had only a small nugget of facts from which they elaborated -- by very tenuous argument and speculation -- reckless conclusions (e.g., the forced sterilization of entire classes of people).

It’s strange how these so called “educated” people were such hypocrites. Head of the ACLU? But only for the people he “represents”? We need accountability from EVERYONE. For their actions. For their agendas. It’s unfortunately on every “side”, in every “party”, and at every job.

It's odd that the more progressive idea of hybrid vigour didn't emerge; it's familiar to farmers and ranchers. The concept might also apply to compatible cultures.

It's largely a myth. In general breeders look for very specific traits and then select on them. Read Darwin, he starts off discussing this. Selection under domestication.

The Inquisition had to do with the forced conversion of Moors and Jews to Catholicism. Queen Isabella, along with Tomas de Torquemada (ironically himself a converted Jew) established the Inquisition as the secular enforcement branch of the Catholic Church. The Inquisition was not about race or bloodline, but about stamping out anyone who didn't convert to Catholicism. It was about establishing a dominant religion.

Actually, as I was listening, it occurred to me that every time you heard the word Black man or Negro…. if you inserted instead Trump voter or Deplorable…it was exactly the same mud slinging description . You could even exchange Neanderthal with Gorilla for the exact description of a conservative, or Trump voter. Also, I couldn’t help but notice Harvard University popped up in this lecture on racist’s. It seems like PhD’s and intellectuals are behind a lot of the ‘us smart Harvard, Yale genius guys’ V ‘you dumb Neanderthal guys that couldn’t get into Harvard if your life depended on it’. People need to stop listening to PhD’s ….unless they are building a bridge. Take PhD’s and self acclaimed intellectuals with a grain of salt. I learned that a long time ago. 🌻

For those smart enough, educated or not, to know enough to use a bit of discernment, you can easily enough tell which PhD's are drowning in their own ego and which have enough humility to actually be useful. Sowell is confident yet humble, and emminently useful. Sadly, this group appears to be a distinct minority.

comment sections are a great place to see the lib mind at work; hurling elitist insults at anyone who doesnt agree with em, i think it's part of being a lib and that if they overcame this trait theyd cease to be libs.
