You're trying to find logic where none exists my friend. Simply put, humans are emotional creatures and some just arent mature enough to handle their feelings properly. So you get "fair weather" players like this Akali, who might be a good player when things are going smoothly, but tilt out of their mind at the slightest inconvenience.

Blue trinket wards got changed around that 13.10 item rework patch to be like Ghost Poros. They're pretty much as they were before, but if you step over them or enter their range / reveal them, they'll self destruct in 3 seconds. Probably added so that there would be some incentive to play their ward ping minigame, since you'd have 3 seconds to break it, or miss the gold entirely.

BLUE TRINKET update: it grants vision of the entire circle even if line of site is blocked by structures/walls on the map, but it automatically disappears after it has spotted an enemy, you can destroy it for gold if you hit it before it disappears which is a few seconds after it spots you.
