My playstyle with Shen is always around my team, to protect the ones who will carry my game, that's why Ionian boots + Bami's Cinder are always my top priority items in laning phase. I need the ability haste from the boots + Ultimate hunter to have more presence in the map and Bami's Cinder to avoid being under constant pressure from my oponent. As always great video Petu.

It's actually crazy to me how much more fun a lot of champions traditionally considered Top Laners feel in Mid Lane. Tryndamere, Shen, Nasus, even Nautilus (though he's generally seen as a Support nowadays). It just feels like you can have so much more impact on a game when you're not stuck being the defacto answer to your lane opponent split pushing.

I have a question: why hollow radiance? Yone and TF were the bigger threats so why not stack more armor early and go Sunfire instead of hollow radiance? the waveclear is about the same too or not? I genuenly wanna know bc I wanna learn and improve but I dont see the reasoning here. If I was in that game I would have purchases Sunfire. Am I wrong for that?

I believe it's for the waveclear. For what I've played with hollow radiance you push way faster, and although Yone and TF deal primarly physical damage, part of their damage is magic too. I would love to know the reasoning too.

Petu can you analyze abbysal mask technology? it has a base price of 2400, 60 magic resist, 300 health and 10 CD The thing is, it has a magic reduction to champions that caps at 25 (5 + 1,2% of max health= aprox 2500 health to get the maximum benefit early) and a magic resistance increase of 9 per enemy, which means maybe tanks do not get affected as much, but squishy midlaners or ADC's with 40 to 60 magic resist would suffer more damage overall And it would amount to 78 magic resist ( Base 60 + 9x2 (2 enemies) or 105 (Base 60 + 9x5 (5 enemies, teamfight) making it a very cheap and efficient item.

I've done more extensive testing, hear me out: ABBYSAL MASK: (RANGE OF RADIUS: 550, VERY LARGE, LIKE 3 TIMES SHEN'S ATTACK RANGE) 25 MAGIC RESIST REDUCTION CAP (5 + 1,2% MAX HEALTH) ENEMY BASE RESISTANCE 100 (Toplaner Bruiser, Jungle) MAGIC RESIST: Q Maxed Level 5 Sword (Max damage, enemy crossed with sword) Damage with no abbysal mask: 41 magic damage Damage WITH abbysal mask: 46 damage MAGIC DAMAGE INCREASE WITH SHEN'S Q: 10,87% ENEMY BASE RESISTANCE 60 (Squishy, ADC, Midlaner) MAGIC RESIST: Q Maxed Level 5 Sword (Max damage, enemy crossed with sword) Damage with no abbysal mask: 51 Damage Damage WITH abbysal mask: 60 damage MAGIC DAMAGE INCREASE WITH SHEN'S Q: 15%
