Poirier has one of the most impressive records of ever. He has literally fought the best of the best every single one of his fights. Conor, khabib, Justin, max holloway, eddie Alvarez just to name a few. He’s arguably the best fighter to never hold the belt

Varun Roy I watched 200 at a Buffalo Wild Wings, worst decision ever. That’s why I always watch fights at home now, I’m tired of people shouting their unnecessary “oooohsss, ahhhhhhs, fccccxxkkk.” It’s a bit repulsive. There’s something in hearing only the refs, fighters, and sometimes Jon anik, Lol.

I would like to see Dustin to take a little time off to spend with his family and to heal properly because he has had the toughest schedule of any 155er and he deserves another shot at the belt ! How many more battles like this one can he have left because one would imagine as hard as he trains and fights it will take a toll on his longevity? The UFC should definitely grant him the next title shot after a performance like that because if Hooker managed to get the win they was going to give him a shot without a doubt! Dustin you are a beast buddy an I hope to see that belt around your waist soon my friend!

Like it's fucked up kinda how he just gets on top of you preventing you from getting on your feet while he punches his opponents face in and going for the choke so it's either they get punched or subbed. Khabib really did Dustin tough when he slammed him tucked his arm and kept pummeling him on the ground and going for chokes constantly and then just letting them go. Jack Pendleton I agree. I think it was the end of the 3rd, if there was another was another 2 minutes I think Hooker could have finished DP possibly. He was clearly stunned, but Hooker maybe gassed from trying to finish him there in the last 30 seconds or so. DP caught his second wind though and Hooker really wasn’t the same after that. Poirier did more damage than Hooker in that fight. Hooker is just a zombie

I remember a moment when Hooker was firing off a combo against Dustin on the cage (rd 2 or 3), Dustin just blocked/ate the shots like nothing, and fired back with 2 really clean, heavy shots that pushed Hooker back. I guess Hooker had a higher total punch count but I think Poirier was the more effective striker.

This feels more like Chael trying to justify to himself why HE doesn't have a legacy. Legacy is most definitely a thing. Anderson Silva, GSP, Khabib, Jon Jones, Fedor Emilanenko, these names will live on for quite some time, but it's because they were champions and were incredible to watch fight. Not to be a dick but I've watched Sonnen's fights and he's much more interesting to listen to than he is to actually watch fight. Not to say that he's not an amazing fighter, anyone who makes it to that level is a badass, but his style and caliber to me just falls kind of short of championship caliber and that's the reason more than anything else that he's not talked about all that much. He's interesting before the fight, but not so much during. People are attracted to all the drama that leads up to a fight, but it's the fights themselves that are remembered. So I don't think it's a case of "what have you done for me lately", it's just that as entertaining and solid as Sonnen was as a fighter, he's just wasn't impressive enough as a fighter to have a lasting legacy. I think he will have a legacy as commentator and shit talker though, and that's still a cool legacy to have.
