Also important to note: The Amazon gift cards that RiceGum gave away, were already redeemed BEFORE the "Apology" was uploaded. Yes, those $20 gift cards were like pennies to him, yet he was even too greedy for that.

Jake's behind Evil Food Supply? Damn, I knew that channel was sus. I watched a video recently regarding the "evil" side of commercial dog food. I was following along, thinking it makes sense what it was saying. Then at the end, the channel smoothly slides right on in trying to sell their own brand of dog food that was allegedly "safe" for dogs. Basically, the entire video was saying "all dog food except the brand I'm shilling at the is bad. So buy this brand instead". Made me disregard what the entire video said, even if there is some level of truth behind it.

@@Amurous I remember when I used to be a fan of his and he uploaded a video about how lotteries are a scam... and then promoted a "no losses lottery" or whatever on the same video. When I first started watching Jake Tran's videos, I was drawn in by the unique story telling of presenting this evil corporation in the perspective of running it. Telling the story as if we the viewer were at the wheel of these massive companies making these decisions, was an interesting concept. I see humor in Jake Tran's approach, like a running gag. He gets a sponsor & before he promotes it, he has a video of him telling you why his sponsor is a piece of shit. The audience is in on the joke, which is why he still has subscribers, & the sponsor is the butt of the joke. Anyone dumb enough to buy the product after the video told them why it's a bad idea is probably too stupid to have their own bank account.

Many professional sports players are the same... like, they know they will prob be retired by 30 but they just blow money without any savings or investing and then end up broke after a few years once they're not on top anymore. It keeps happening but folks just don't seem to learn. The ones good enough to be a brand by themselves forever are miniscule but everyone thinks they're an exception.

Humility is very important in life and every profession. If you let popularity get to your head, you will lose it all, both your humility and your popularity. Jake's videos were awesome, it's a shame how he continued. But on the other hand it is fascinating how fast one can rise and fall within a few months. The Dupont, Nestlé and plastic videos were brilliantly high quality and then it all tanked.

You are aware the gabby hanna accusations she made on ricescum were debunked right? A bunch of people who were there told a different story to what gabby said and revealed gabby was kinda instigating it by annoying the hell out of him on purpose. Plus if i recall he did buy her a new phone after he slapped her og phone out of her hand. Also ricegum is still active but he moved to rumble where the rest of the former youtube gegenerates moved to Ricegum is a prick but you really need to make sure your doing your research and making sure your not taking things at face value because that can end up doing a lot of harm not only to the people you now just accused but also for you and your audience

man i totally forgot about the unboxing dude, i didn't know of any of the "downfall" or anything, there was one or two videos that seemed to me like the where a little too far in the realm of "paid for comments" on terrible hardware so i just stopped watching

This is one thing that I am always scared about, unironically. I love making content and I enjoy experimenting with different types of content and I almost wonder if success and fame turns someone into someone like Ricegum or Unbox Therapy, or were they always like that way? What if by per-chance my content one day blows up, will I become like Ricegum?

I swear those Amazon Gift Cards Rice ''gave'' away were used before the video was even uploaded, and that it was confirmed by Amazon themselves that was the case?

I remember those "Mystery Box" promos, but didn't The PAUL Brothers push these as well? If so, WHY didn't they suffer from this? Or did KZbin protect them like they protected Sniperwolf when she doxed someone? Because Jake Paul sure has gotten away with a TON of stuff on KZbin with ZERO repercussions.

I remember H3H3's video where they exposed Rice Gum proving that he tired to scam his fans again by giving them invalid gift cards. They called Amazon and the agent told them that the cards had been used months before he posted these codes in his video.

Honestly, I would of made my money and dipped at a certain point, Once you start reaching a certain level of consistency and revenue at that point time to diversify that portfolio and branch out of youtube. I think most people crash out because they run out of ideas that will keep up that same energy.

Time and fame have a unique way of showing a person's character. I don't really trust anyone online or in real life, because anyone is capable of degraded integrity. If people were inherently good, there'd be no need to maintain it in the first place.

Jake Tran's new channel Evil Food Supply probably is a more backhanded grift then you think, as his videos are very much targeted against meat and dairy alternatives, propagandising very easily disprovable lies. The meat and dairy industry in the past has sponsored some KZbinrs to spread misinformation, so I am guessing he just took a big check from them.

On the Ricegum thing I love that even though you didn't say it you made sure to include the comment pointing out not only did he pull the "throwing pennies at the peasants" gift card codes, but they were actually all spent 7 months b4 he even shared them. Meaning that the codes were fake empty and used up just like he was. When I saw that video I had more pity for him than I can recall having for anyone in a long LONG damn time...
