THANK YOU! People who don’t understand “what all the fuss is about” regarding Freddie’s voice - if they’re actually curious - just need to take the time to listen to some of his lesser-known recordings. The uniqueness of his vocal abilities is definitely not evident in the handful of Queen’s greatest hits that most audiences hear on the radio. As one listener put it: He could sing 20 different songs and literally sound like 20 different people.

Freddy senz'altro grande carisma, personalità e voce. Ma chi padroneggia ogni meccanismo e registro vocale è Dimash Qudaibergen, per non parlare della sua capacità interpretativa! Non so se in futuro (visto come vanno le cose) qualcuno potrà avvicinarlo!

Who could sing R&B, Gospel, Rockabilly, Country, Opera, Musicals and yes! Rock and Roll! This one man changed it all! Going from the world in black and white to full technicolor! His power to take the stage, his presence felt before even walking into the room! Coolest man to ever do it! Kind, humble and absolutely loved and cared for his fans! 47 years after his death, he is still and will ALWAYS be The King! 👑⚡TCB

These "scientists" better take some more classes. Dimash has a far wider range and can sing many different styles of songs. He also sings in many languages. There are sooooo many singers with a more flawless singing technique than Farrokh Bulsara. "Dimash, is considered the gold standard in singing these days. He has practically no technical flaws: he is also much more talented than Freddie. See, Freddie could never sing Dimash songs, because they are too difficult to sing for pretty much everyone, however, Dimash can easily sing Queen songs. Freddie live and Freddie on a studio recording are two different things. Freddie liked to skip difficult passages and both high and low notes in live performances, and still had his many flaws when singing live, despite the reduced range and difficulty. However, Dimash could easily sing every Queen song on the original and higher difficulty level live flawlessly. Take "The Show Must Go On." Dimash was a 22 year old boy back then and only had 2 days to learn, re-arrange and rehearse the song and could not even really rehearse it because he had a cold. His English was absolutely awful back then, but he technically totally nailed it, despite still having a cold during the performance. He immensely raised the difficulty level, versatility and range of the song by going both lower and much higher than Freddie on the studio recording because the song was obviously too easy for him."

I saw Queen in 1977 and 1980. There is no comparison to Freddie, not to mention the rest of the band is fantastic too! I saw Queen *Adam Lambert in 2023. Adam is an excellent singer but Freddie? He’s a step above. Adam is dressed to the 9’s sitting atop a blinged out motorcycle hitting all of the notes. Freddie held us in the palm of his hand in jeans / tshirt or just a pair of shorts. If you haven’t heard his quiet speaking voice, take a listen today one of the David Wigg interviews…soft, polite but with an impish sense of humor.

Freddie was incredible, and deserves the title. But he’s not my favourite vocalist of all time - my choice would be Conor Mason of Nothing But Thieves. He’s not a showman like Freddie, but he has his own quiet charisma, and a sweet personality that’s very endearing, and his voice! I can’t even explain how I feel about his voice, it’s just incredible. He has a fantastic range, he can belt out a rock song, or bring you to tears with one of his ballads. Nothing But Thieves are a fantastic band, and I don’t understand why it’s taken a good decade for them to start to get the recognition they deserve, but I’ve started to see a fair few reviews recently where Conor’s been described as the voice of his generation - to me he’s the best vocalist I’ve ever heard, and I’m an old lady. This is from the last time I saw them, in February: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnjNYqF8Z7iAf5o
I saw your title and thumbnail and was thrilled to think the 40 million selling late great Demis Roussos had been stated by “science” as the greatest. Professor Christian Herbst looks like him. Roussos spent much of his own money to try to have success here in America, to little avail. Freddie Mercury was very talented, but I am a much bigger fan of Demis Roussos.
