I really liked this video. My sappy self was almost in tears the whole video. It is nice to see how excited everyone gets; how happy you are for each other. This was pleasing to see. All the cool stuff, the history, the time you spend exploring the PA outdoors.

Very beat finds. It would be great if you dug into the history of some of your finds. Like the Pittock News token comes from the Pittsburgh Leader, which took a stand on dropping the “h” in Pittsburgh, at least for a while, and created the character, Pa Pittsburgh.

Wow what a variety of coins I wonder what was going on there a long time ago. Damn I literally found a holed 1789 Reale about 10 days ago myself. Ive been detecting a long time so maybe I can help with some info of the finds. When you clean it up that 2 on the Reale could be a 9 they both have that large top circular loop. The F & F were initials from 2 different asseyors for the Mexico city mint they certify the weight and silver purity. The British coin is most likely a 3 Pence. I think they were being used in Canada and might uave been used as a Canadian 5 cents theyre both pretty close in soze and weight but I dont remember where I got that info being it was from it was a few years back after I dug one between an old church and a Cemetary over in Jersey and researched it somewhat and being we're relatively close to Pa when it comes to the US they were probably used around the same time around tri state area. The NY Excelsior button isnt really that much out of place. The NY 14th militia went in service under Grant towards the end chasing Lee down from Spotsylvania to Gettysburg including a lot of wilderness campaigns through the woods in PA out there so that button almost guarentee was from a soldier who found directly under Ulysses S Grant. Sometines where you find those things is as important as what the thing is you found because it increases the value because there's a major story behind it. Its unlikely that a CW soldier decided to wear his uniform and and wind up out there then do something to cause him to pop a button. Those guys were fighting through woods running through trees even in the dark and branches became almost pick pockets on buttons. Finding these things are great as it is but when it comes with a plausible or provable story it takes them to another lever. Many of those coins were circulated around at that time so who knows you guys might be on or very close to another great site. Congratulations on all the great finds guys If this can help now or in the future theres a website TagTown it's web address is www.tagtown.net you can find out a lot of into on the RR luggage tag. In fact you can mail him a picture of the tag and he'll give you all the info about it. Dont be surprised if he doesn't have one from say the maker or that specific line if he offers to buy it from you lol. Thats something you would need to decide on your own but at least you'll get the exact info on what it is because they werent only used on RR's they're also used as shipping tags which could include horse and carraige or even by ship. Theres a possibly although not very probably that your carriage registration went to a cargo shipping wagon. He might be able to give info on that. The number might be researchable. Imagine if it came back to Wells Fargo to a coach which was robbed? Then you'll wonder if there was a robbery and a buried loot around lol Good Luck guys on your next hunt

@@PARelicHunters I was blessed with a father who started me detecting at 16 years old in 1979 and he taught me that by researching your finds quite often you can piece together a puzzle of why your finding what you are. Being in New Jersey I find a lot of similar finds with the exceptions of local town artifacts and relics like that registration plate from Pittsburgh. My mouth waters thinking about getting out towards western Pennsylvania because once you get near Allegheny county on you're in the French Indian 7 year war territory. What a lot of people don't know is towards the end that war the British kept losing skirmishes all throughout those woods out there and their leader general Braddock was seriously injured. He turned command over to a young 22 year old who knew the area and how to negotiate with the Indians by the name of George Washington. Washington took them in and forced the French and Indians to surrender an area called the fork which today is in Allegheny county near Pittsburgh. Washington who was then loyal to the crown wanted to lead his own command and become a general but Kind George looked down on Washington as just a Colonial tobacco farmer and not sophisticated enough to lead soldiers in war. And that insulted Washington who said we farm our land to pay it to the Crown without really being financially rich all he got was ownership of land and slaves the real money the British took. After the war was over and they barely acknowledged Washington for what he had done it lit the fire of rebellion in him getting him thinking then what are we all doing over here (in the colonies) we're not free if you look down at us as not being high enough in class to be British when we send the crown so much money. And that's what made him come up from Virginia to Philly and begin the talks of revolting, and we now what happened after that. That's why Washington himself took the war so serious and personal and he traveled with the troops through thick and thin. He knew had we lost he was the first to be hung. But anyway I only brought that up because if you guys are getting into the outskirts of that area there's a good chance one of you might get over somethings nobody's seen like from British or French uniforms or coins and the Reales should be the crossed pistareens or even cobs and not the later milled coins. Being so many of those battles were in woods and not in open fields not a lot of dropped items were seen and salvaged. The bad thing about woods drops are from 300 years they get deep. The good thing is they cut many of those old growth trees for lumber which prevented things for getting out of range. I'm just trying to keep your guys hopes up if I can't find it I'm happy with seeing someone else recover it because it keeps that fire up in all of us. Good luck guys I've been watching all the videos of hunters in the north east to see who's gonna be the first to hit one of those old pre Rev War sights and so far I only saw one guy pull steady targets from that era I dont know if he wants me putting his name out there but it came surprisingly from Vermont not Pa or Ohio like I would expect. Have some great hunts
