Sorry for being picky but 'Mikhailvichov' would be pronounced 'Mi-hi-al-ovichov' Not 'Mik-hail-ovichov' (and anyway you would only see the ending 'ovich' in a middle name to represent that you are the son of so if your dad was called 'Mikhail' then your middle name would be 'Mikhailovich') and again sorry for being picky, it was great performance (and my qualifications with this are me being from Russia e)

Damn Foil, that American accent is spot on! As for region... Gosh, it’s tough to tell. TV accents are sort of standardized, more taught than developed organically. Probably closest to some Californian dialect, it’s very Hollywood. Definitely not valley or oakie though... Gosh I need to get my head in the game here.

I think the joke was inspired by the fact that a lot of Americans claim to be Irish (because their great-grandmother was Irish or something like that). I've read that the Irish complain about it or laugh at it. Because Americans just don't get that the European concept of nationality and ethnicity is different than theirs.
