Seems relatively straitforward. Greenish skin from Malnutrision. Were refugees from somewhere else (such as Flemish, but I wouldnt doubt Poland or Scandnavia) whose Parent(s) came to England but kept them inside most od the time, Parents died they went into hiding. The name of the Place their from is from them AFTER they learned English, which I put little stock into.

this is absolutely weird. I know this case but I still can't wrap my head around where the children actually came from. the green skin might be explainable by the food they ate. I know someone, who as a kid ate lots and lots and loooots of carrots and his skin was actually orange!

If they came from a land of "perpetual twilight" Jaundice could be the cause for the greenish skin. Typically Jaundice is caused by a lack of vitamin D, sunlight. Jaundice is considered to turn the skin and eyes more of a yellow hue, but it's not out of the question it could be considered a greenish hue.

When I was young until my early teenager days, there was a family here in the Rural area's of Oregon that had blue skin. The family legit had a condition where they had blue skin and we were told to not make fun of the family. It must of been difficult to live with. It came with a lot of rumors wrapped around it. I was always just blown away that I was actually seeing people with blueish grey skin. In the 90s and early 2000s.

Intriguing story. I'm surprised I never see anyone mention the name of their supposed town. St Martinsland is a English name. Shouldn't their land be in their native tongue. I am open minded I believe parallel universes ect are very possible. In this case though my theory is that they were probably malnourished immigrants. It was all about survival. As a child servant in that household having an interesting origin story could have brought up her status and children always want to have answers for adults that question them. Maybe she didn't remember. She obviously married up and things seemed to have been ok for her. I remember my childhood and the kids I grew up with lol unfortunately while many of us couldn't lie as children there were always the ones that could and well!
