OMG, hi Mead, I'm so blessed that I can see you playing this! About 10 to 15 years ago, I was with the NCKU wind band in Taiwan. Also, we performed once together on the stage (I was playing the clarinet). Anyway, I have just joined a school band these days, and started learning Euphonium!! More than that, we will play this song too on the concert as a presentation though obviously it's not me who plays the solo. Thanks to the algorithm for leading me to your wonderful Euphonium performance. =)

You Sir, are an inspiration! Waiting for this piece to arrive any day now in the mail. Looking forward to working on it. Your sound as always, is wonderful.
Wow amazing. Im currently practicing this piece but i carnt do the middle celtic piece wherebthe tempo picks up
@TheJH10154 жыл бұрын
Start off practising it very slowly so you get the rythm and notes right, then go a bit faster and practise until you've got it to a satisfactory result. I like to start at 80 beats a minute, then add 3-5 beats every time I want to go faster. Personally I use some double tonguing to play it well at full speed, so don't be afraid to experiment with that too.

@@TheJH1015 I just bought a used euphonium (Yamaha YEP-210). How long does it usually take before it starts to sound like a euphonium?
@TheJH10154 жыл бұрын
@@JustClaude13 Depends on how much you practise, and on how quick you pick up on the basics. Always remember to play relaxed and breathe low instead of the top of your lungs. There are some good videos here on youtube that explain how to breathe properly.

In the piano accompaniment, it gets uncomfortable when you don't have Prof. Mead holding your hand.

she's getting no bucks :) It's called 'giving back' to the music world.

Steven Mead Yup. I saw all of these KZbinrs uploading videos with Rena as the Pianist and I was like “wow she’s getting paid by many to be the accompanist” and then I realized that she is just uploading some of these to KZbin for free. Truly admirable.
