I cried so much my dad came into my room. Worried when he saw me crying on the Carpe looking at the tv and he saw what I was watching. He just sat down next to me. Everytime I see this movie and his death comes I just get teary eyed and there is this hard feeling I cry again. Specially when the actor who played John was a gentle giant too. And he died. There is a line from the book "The Black Gryphon" by Mercedes Lackey that has always stuck with me. It seems fitting with John Coffey. "Who heals the healer?" There is a point where you just get tired of your gifts of healing. A point where your gift seems to become a curse, because you have seen too much, experienced too much. Where you're just tired of having to put people back together, because of what you have to experience of them being broken in the first place. I think John Coffey was in the same place.

On any list of villains, Percy Wetmore will usually be top 5. My recommendation for a movie with another is "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Anyone that has seen it knows who I'm talking about. One of three movies that won the Oscar for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor and Best Actress. Another big five movie is "Silence of the Lambs", with a remarkable villain (or two). A special shout out to the Oscar winning performance of Kathy Bates in "Misery", another Stephen King adaptation.

Great reaction. You are insightful and make connections in plot cues faster than many folks do, yet it doesn't spoil your ability to deeply connect with the characters and the story. Seeing someone react this strongly really helps us re-live what we experienced our first time. Thank you and be well, looking forward to more!

On our sidenote, back in the day, they used to dress up in suits and ties and shirts just to dabble around the house. My dad would garden with his dress shoes, dress pants and a dress shirt. It was normal.

Percy Wetmore is also in "A Time to Kill". John Coffey is also in "Sin City". And for Wild Bill there are so many movies to recommend: "Moon", "Jojo Rabbit", "Galaxy Quest". The same director also did "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Mist". Castle Rock, the production company (owned by Rob Reiner), also did the Stephen King stories "Stand by Me" and "Misery", both directed by Reiner.

Solid reaction Ms. Verowak. It's interesting that some of these actors worked in other Tom Hanks films. Gary Sinise (D.A. Burt Hammersmith), was in Forest Gump (Lt. Dan) and Apollo 13 (Ken Mattingly). William Sadler (father of the two girls), was in Shawshank Redemption (Heywood), and Barry Pepper (Dean Stanton) played Private "Bumpkin" Jackson in Saving Private Ryan. Pretty good rolls in some great movies!

1. Michael Clarke Duncan starred with Bruce Willis in a very good crime comedy "The Whole Nine Yards" (2000), which I recommend. 2. I will write what I have already written on YT on another channel: the part of the song heard in the old movie seen at the beginning and end of the movie is "Cheek to Cheek" - a song written by Irving Berlin and first performed by Fred Astaire while dancing with Ginger Rogers in movie "Top Hat" (1935). And that movie "Top Hat" is also worth watching. I recommend :)

Back story on some of the condemned inmates: the Cherokee beat another man to death using a chunk of concrete; the Cajun committed rape, arson and multiple murders; John Coffey's backstory is more problematic, but he was ready to escape his miserable existence! (Please to notice NOBODY sheds 1 tear for William Wharton! And what about Percy Wetmore?)

the average lifespan of a mouse is around 2 years in ideal conditions, so making one live for 50 years is really something. If its a similar thing for tom hank's character, his lifespan would be about 25 times longer too. SO he's going to live almost another 2000 years

i did some math based on the lifetime of Mr Jingles. if the numbers hold up, Paul can expect to live well over 1,000 years. and if that is Paul's expected life span, just think of how long John Coffey ("JC", think about those initials!) had walked the earth suffering the pain of what humans do to each other.
