This piece of music is one of the best things I have ever heard. The film is an absolute masterpiece and no matter how many times I see it, every time I watch it I still feel the same sense of awe that I did when I watched it the first time.

Rest in peace Michael Clark Duncan. You were the right pick and those of us who enjoyed your talent will never forget you. I cry every time I hear it. It makes me sad for all of us who have to meet our end, and many meet it in our view, so young and innocently. Yet it also makes me think of everyone who is in jail or was from a long time ago and how their lives ended.

Green Mile most of the people in the past deserved the death penalty. Bet you the guards never wet the sponge just like what percy did in the film after John Wayne Gacy and Ted Bundy.
@Gencturk929 жыл бұрын
Randy Jackson yeah maybe they did something with that needle. how did you know he was killed by lethal injection, you searched it on Google ?
@Gencturk929 жыл бұрын
Randy Jackson my point was you probably didnt know who john wayne gacy was, you looked it up on google. but anyways, Bundy got it in 1989, Gacy got lethal injection. yes of course I have watched green mile so many times and i have it on dvd. brilliant film

Your comment and the replies are all one of my favourite quotes from The Green Mile. John Coffey - Why Would You Do Such A Foolish Thing Paul Edgecomb - On The Day Of My Judgement When I Stand Before God And He Asks Me Why Did I Kill One Of His True Miracles, What Am I Going To Say? It Was My Job? John Coffey - You Tell God It Was The Kindess You've Done. I'm tired Boss , I'm Tired Of Been On The Road , Lonely As A Sparrow In The Rain , But Most Of All I'm Tired Of Everybody Being Ugly To Each Other. It's Like Pieces Of Glass In My Head, Can't You Understand? Paul Edgecomb -=- I Understand John. John Coffey -=- I ain't Ever Seen Me A Black And White Flickering Movie. When I was a kid, like 11 years old, this was absolutely my favourite movie of all time. I remember the day I watched it for the first time twelve years ago. I was so happy back then. I still am now but back then, this movie's existence was the centre of my happy life. Amazing how simple life can be and how much we complicate it when we grow up.

Everytime I see this movie I have to turn up the 7.1 and listen to the entire credits music. Some of Newman's best work. I don't know how people can walk out of the theatre and not listen to the music. Thanks for uploading this low distortion masterpiece.

I had tears brewin during this film, what made it sadder is that Michael Clarke Dunkun had died when I finally got round to watching this film. What really sucks is that this composer also did the Shawshank Redemption and Lion King won the best soundtrack, which whilst is good, the music in Shawshank was so beautiful and uplifting as well as devastating.

'm tired, boss. Tired of bein' on the road, lonely as a sparrow in the rain. Tired of not ever having me a buddy to be with, or tell me where we's coming from or going to, or why. Mostly I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world everyday. There's too much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head all the time. Can you understand?

Wow, quite a mature film for an 11 year old. If I could go back to being a kid, I would savor the simplicity of life and the lack of worries I once had. But now for me, at the tender age of 23, life is a different game. This movie and especially this music can help you put things in perspective a little.

 That's right. It's not that it's hard for me to imagine someone else in his place, I can't even do it. Unfortunately, many worthy people did not receive an Oscar at one time. And Michael is without a doubt one of them. And in general, the Oscar has not been a sign of quality for a very long time.

@@rorschach4489 I think the same thing happens with the composers....In 2020 the winner was the Icelandic Hildur Gudnadottir for Joker,a soundtrack that i love but i think Thomas Newman also deserve it for 1917

If you mean the oboe and flute part starting @ 5:35 it is track 05 'Foolishment' from the OST. Also track 09 'Condemned Man' uses the same melody but played on a piano. The tracks are different though because in the End Credits it seems to have been extended and plays in a different (higher) key of music as far as I can hear. Hope this helps you.

The death of the character, John Coffey, and his willingness and dignity in accepting it, was difficult for me to watch. The death of Michael Clarke Duncan brings that memory back and somehow magnifies the heartbreak of that scene, because we lost both the character and the gifted artist who portrayed him so brilliantly. I’ve always hated being overly emotional, but beauty does that to me. The acting, the music--everything about The Green Mile, will stay with me forever. Thank you, Mr. Duncan. You, too, were a true force of nature.
@gervazejoseph9586 Жыл бұрын
I share your views. An intrigue is this. One is to ask "overly emotional" by whose standards? And by what measure is one overly lacking? To wit, so many in this world, on this planet, discount the importance of allowing the emotional compliment within us to express. As regards men in particular, the emotional body needs expressing much, much more, the venting of which would surely foster a much healthier civilization. Indeed, a man who 'knows' himself, ay knows when and how to cry proves a most healthy man, indeed.
