This movie is an absolute MASTERPIECE. Someone's probably already mentioned that it's based on a novel by Stephen King. Michael Clarke Duncan(RIP) completely SHATTERS me every single time I see this. His performance and ability to portray such gentleness contrasting with his MASSIVE form is just incredible.

Here’s a comment from a KZbin channel. KZbin video comments kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJa5qp2pd96Cgas By Uncle Bounce • 10 mo ago (edited) Excellent reaction. Remember, Percy was no less or more evil than the rest of convicts on death row (excluding the single innocent one). They all committed heinous, heartless crimes to get there. One of the best and most overlooked aspects of this movie is the way it is written to trap the audience with their own hypocrisies. All the bleeding hearts who worry about death penalties being too painful or not humane enough, I have never heard any of them say anything less than "I hope Percy dies and suffers horribly dying." (or something similar). The irony, of course, is Percy is simply someone who belongs on death row, making him an equal to the same people you are also crying over and worrying if they suffer. "Innocent" inmates on death row or any crime that requires unanimous guilty verdicts are quite rare, MANY times more rare than what Hollywood portrays with their constant "innocent man in jail" trope. Shawshank speaks the truth: "we're all innocent" (but none truly are). It's just a public act for the gullible and easily manipulated bleeding hearts. Notice how Percy and Wild Bill both could suddenly go from evil into sweet and apologetic and whimpering "poor me" acts? Over and whimpering "poor me" acts? Over and over. Those other inmates are the same. They all did horrible stuff (like the dog who bit out the boy's eye then later tucks tail and acts innocent). These evil people all act apologetic and sad when they're caught and being punished, and if you haven't figured that out by watching Percy and Wild Bill over and over, then you're an emotional fool with less brainpower than Del.
@NiaMakiReacts2 жыл бұрын
I agree that this movie does a great job of gaming people realize their own prejudices. I did not like Percy of Wild Bill, but I actually felt bad for what happened to him. You can see that I clearly did not like him, but I’d never wish death on him, and also was truly horrified when I thought the illness was transferred to him… and felt pity for him when he pissed his pants too… It’s one thing to like “get someone back” when it’s not really harmful like the spraying with the hose… but like death, beatings, humiliation… I don’t wish that on anyone

Excellent acting by Michael Clarke Duncan. Highly emotional work of fiction. Great reaction, Nia Maki. But the "True" miracle worker will forever wipe all your tears away. Revelation 7: 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." For the Lamb Of God, Jesus Christ, can give eternal life to all that will believe. John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." Maybe the next time you watch TGM you'll be more relaxed and view it simply as you would just "another film," not having to record your reactions. The efforts of the director, screenwriters, set designers, actors, and others aren't being fully recognized and enjoyed when feelings are clamped down. I've never done a reaction video, but I have seen lots of mixed feelings in the reviewers because they want to walk that tightwire between fully enjoying the film as a film and sharing their analysis of the plot, characters, etc.
