Dear Keith and Gretsch, Thank you for your tremendous contribution to drums! A Gretsch drum will always exude performance and value at any given level. I will buy this drum for many obvious reasons, even without Keith's endorsement. The fact he's putting his name on it seals the deal, for me, becasue this guy is the real deal!

@paulseano51003 жыл бұрын
This Gretsch snare drum is very versatile. You can get a fat sound and a bright crack as well as several other tones out of it. I used to watch Keith play in Texas quite frequently in the 90’s and he played a brass snare then so he is true to his word about his use of brass snares. Thanks Keith for the great drumming influence and again to Gretsch for making great drums. I play a Gretsch maple Renown from the early 2000’s and I need to top it off with one of Keith’s Sinature Snare drums. Looking forward to getting one soon. Hope to be able to endorse Gretsch drums one day.

@paulseano51003 жыл бұрын
Keith is an incredible drummer and person. I went to all of his gigs back in the 90s in Dallas Texas when he was playing locally before he took off to New York to hit the big time. Never before had I seen a drummer with such dynamics and with the left hand traditional grip way up toward the butt end of the stick. His ghost notes are mesmerizing and the speed and precision control he has around the kit makes him so riveting to watch. A true creator of a unique style unmatched. This Gretsch snare drum is truly worth the investment as well. Gretsch is a “ Man’s Kit.” Thanks to Keith for the drumming influence and Gretsch for their painstaking work to provide us with incredible quality drums.

@jc3drums9163 жыл бұрын
I have no idea how he plays trad like that, with the fulcrum all the way back. The stick has almost zero bounce. Weckl used to play like that as well, and I think Erskine still does. I guess it's similar to playing doubles with brushes, which I need to work on, lol.

Now we're a pair. I cut mine down as well to leave just a couple of inches above the clutch.
@onemoremisfit3 жыл бұрын
@@maprow Mine's maxed out with the cymbals 38" off the floor. If I had to do the Bonham thing with a jingle on top I'd be unable. I'm 6'2", which is tall but not gigantic. I sit at a height that puts my thighs slightly inclined upward toward the hips as is commonly taught. I put the snare at a playable height in my lap. The hi hat must be where it is to allow stroke room between the arms when crossed. And yet every other kit I've sat behind has unplayable ergonomics, in addition to the guy's quirks such as severe tom angles etc. I hate sitting in on other guy's kits, and I will decline when offered. And guitar players think drums are just furniture. If I explain they argue like idiots.

@@onemoremisfit You could go full "Dave Grohl" and set the throne so your knees are above your waist. 😁
@onemoremisfit3 жыл бұрын
@@maprow I watched a recent Virgil Donati video and noticed both his knees are under the snare, and the first floor tom is right next to the snare with no room for the right leg in between. And some guitar player would see no reason why I couldn't sit in on Virgil's kit, and he'd argue about it and resent me for not serving his convenience. And I'd be kicked out of the band.
