Spot on camera work and drone flying, contrast this with various programmes on the telly about bagging and this is so much better, albeit with much more modern kit but still, it's the person who ultimately choses the vistas, framing and editing, superb job.

I've never made it to the grey corries, and I think this is the first video I've seen on it. They certainly live up to their name! Great video, love the drone shots and the views. One thing - it may just be me but I'm never a fan of sped up shots in hillwalking videos. For me, hiking is a slow paced pleasure and I prefer it when the pace of the video reflects that (and am fine if that makes the video a few minutes longer!). Thanks, looking forward to the next one
@ScottishMunroJourney2 жыл бұрын
I also hadn’t seen much on the grey corries so wasnt sure what to expect - but it well exceeded my expectations 😁 totally understand what you mean with the sped up shots - I can see where other people turn off the video and it was usually on the longer parts.. cant keep everyone pleased I suppose 😂 thanks for watching 😁 Cheers, James

Well the girl friend and I did it on Saturday , and it was amazing , I give it a 10 out if 10 😜 The weather was perfect , not as warm as you had it but warm enough , still big patches of snow on the higher hills. Found it an easy walk , the return decent was great, nice soft gradual grass slope all the way and the forest wasn't that bad , there is much worse decents than this .. I think the heat got to you that day? Well that's me at 195, trying to work out which one to do my 200th on ?

Great vid. I’m enjoying witnessing your journey, must day though I’ll look forward to your experience of the black cuillin, I reckon your filmmaking will make for an amazing series of videos - perhaps you’d make a bit of a planning vid for that too for those of us who haven’t yet been over there..

Firstly and importantly thank you for the enthusiastic munro videos in which you present hill walking as a positive pursuit. Why I came by your channel is that I had unsubsribed from some big channels that had gone fully commercial: the gifting of gear as payment for a paid infomercial within the climb and amazon product links with a percentage of each sale as payment. I was therefore surprised by the way you held up the shake label for the camera and read off its publicity features. Please may I ask is this going to be the direction of your channel? As an enthusiastic climber paid content hits me hard because one moment I am sharing in the experience, and therefore open and vulnerable in the next moment to the paid hit. Whatever your direction I wish you well.
@ScottishMunroJourney2 жыл бұрын
I understand your frustration, I am not advertising any more products on the channel - but I can see why many do. It takes a fair bit of time/effort/money to produce videos so its only natural to accept a bit of ‘reward’ for the work put in. I have found it doesn’t fit my content so well so it wont be happening any more 😁 Thanks, James
@justmyopiniontoday75482 жыл бұрын
@@ScottishMunroJourney thank you for your courteous reply. I quite agree. Many a climber has felt those financial and time pressures and has come to feel some 'reward' is fair and appropriate. I actually could imagine me saying that to myself. Why it hits me and I assume others hard is the emotional intimacy built up with the climber. I am watching the route ... ok don't turn there stay on 500m and there is a vital small locken on right. Or yeh the climber has limped on with knees that I've also had but he has also admitted it on utube and been brave in his attitude so as to complete the route and in good humour, so the least I can do is not be so down about not being able to go out for 4 months because of bad knees. Perhaps I might give one small illustration from your own channel. In your backpack 'gear I take video' something I noticed was when you said you carry a small ipod music storage device for comfort when pushing on with painful knees. As a climber worrking hard for recovery to Scotland's hills and Munros that jumped out and made me wonder if I should try music as an aid. (Might also carry a boot lace.) And yet a strong argument can be made that the climber should be at least be allowed to recover partial costs. I do not have the solution to that. I can only say hidden advertising hits me. Once again thx for your previous comments. Regards.

Love your videos, they’re so well made but do you really need to put paid promotions into them, can’t this just be a hobby?
@ScottishMunroJourney2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark, the products are given as gifts in return for honest reviews, I don’t get paid as such 😁 the KZbin rules say you have to tell viewers the video includes ‘paid’ promotion.. Munro bagging is still just my hobby.. as is making the videos 😁 Thanks for watching, James
