So, the thing with the L Cluster and Contingency home system. The game only has a certain amount of space it can render stars in, with a regular circular galaxy all four corners are left empty until the L Cluster spawns. I can only assume that this grid mod takes up the entire renderable space, so when the L Cluster spawns where the game assumes is empty space, it ends up overlapping.

I've got a new system in my beta-patch game that's some sort of automated mall? And it keeps spawning "Parking Attendant" robots that fly around the system, but create a new contact event every time. It's free influence, but it started getting really crowded after 200 years. The funny thing is, I went and killed them all because they're considered Neutral and as long as a ship stayed in the system no more spawned.

It is hard to do an actual galaxy as they have billions of stars and systems not thousands. The closest thing available that we know of is the Local Interstellar Cloud, about 30 light years. And even then that might be a bit small for some people who want a good game play experience given the type of immersion they want as close to a galaxy as possible. Even the Orion Spur is too big, 800 million stars. Even the local bubble is too big with 8 million stars. Even within 100 light years, there is just too many with 59,722 stars. So around 50 light years or maybe 55 light years is about as much as you could go for most computer systems will allow. Yet that doesn't really provide enough room to really feel that sense of wonder as being part of galaxy. Here is the thing you need to realize and how the developers do too. Solar systems are really really big and so are galaxy. Compartmentalizing the experience for the two would allow more room for actual galaxy and solar systems to exist rather than barely one at all except for mods for the sol system and there is pretty much no other way you could do so for a galaxy. You need to divide a galaxy into sections, even Star Trek and Star Wars does this. To do this while feeling like you are in a paradox game with units zipping about, you should have layers. And don't tell me you cannot make such work. The Computer is designed to compartmentalize information in folders. So of course it would work. You have to be prideful, ignorant and stupid to disagree. So what do we have. We could easily utilize the Local Group. Going beyond that I agree isn't really possible. And it really isn't likely you would colonize every system, but just enough for your economy and military presence to be acknowledged at the level it needs to be. Russia is vast and open, but it exerts enough military pressure to prevent anyone from invading it that aren't Russians themselves. The Netherlands are a Tiny Country, but it holds tremendous economic importance across the globe, same is true for Singapore and Switzerland. 1) Local Group divided into Galactic Subgroups. You would have three (even though you could also do this in two, but three makes more sense given how big Andromda is even though Triangulum is a satellite of Andromda). It is possible to customize this to have many Subgroups and each subgroup to consist of one or two proper galaxies. 2) Galactic Subgroups are divided into Proper Galaxies and Dwarf Galaxies. Proper Galaxies have more levels. Dwarf Galaxies don't. 3) Galaxies are then divided into Galactic Regions such as the Arms of the Milky Way as well as the Core Region called the Galactic Bulge and the Galactic Halo which surrounds it. 4) Galactic Regions can be further divided into subregions depending on the size. The Orion Spur or Arm can be further divided into the Gould Belt. 5) Subregions can be further divided into infraregions (infra being below sub) depending on the size. The Gould Belt consists of the Local Bubble. 6) Infraregions can be further divided into Parvoregions (Parv being below infra) depending on the size. The Local Bubble consists of the Local Cloud which consists of 250 to 750 star systems I believe. Before I continue 750^4 is +300 Billion which is within range of what our galaxy probably has. Do know you could probably reduce everything by 1/10 of the low bar and would feel so huge that you might underlook the fact it is not truly on scale. That 25^4, which is 390,625. For Stellaris, that is huge. Some argue there is no way a system could work for something like that. I argue that it can if it is done correctly. If you compartmentalize everything, it would probably suffice quite easily with plenty of room to spare and for the average computer, not just the best ones on the market or custom made to be beyond scope of what is on the market. Nevertheless, to allow room for larger galaxies as you could fit two and maybe even three proper galaxies together in one Galactic subgroup. It is possible to make an even bigger galaxy as just one subgroup by itself. 7) In that case, Parvoregions can be further divided into Microregions. 25^5 = 9,765,625, which is mindblowing. And in retrospect to a real galaxy. That is 2.373*10^14. That is right galaxies with fourteen or more digits. The largest galaxies have a hundred trillion or more stars. 100,000,000,000,000. So yeah, it does fit having the biggest galaxies we know of. 8) Never the less at this point you would have Solar Systems as the division of a Galactic Subunit. 9) Solar Systems are divided into solar Zones which may or may not have belt to divide them and may be considered its own zone. 9A. For our Solar System with have the Proximal Zone of the Sun which is the Sun and whatever may be really close to it as some exoplanets are really close to their host star. 9B. Then we have the Inner Zone, which is the most likely region to find planets. 9C. Then there is the Medium Zone, which consists of worlds that could support life but not likely on the Surface, rather underground if they are Europa like and in top layers of the atmosphere if they are a Gas Giant. 9D. Then there is the Exterior Zone, which consists of worlds way too cold even in the inside of worlds or on the clouds of an ice giant or Cold gas giant as these entities would be just too cold to support life, but they are more feasible to obtain materials as compared to the next zone. 9E. Lastly there is the Ulterior Zone, which consists perhaps the most bodies but also has the most economic extensive market for resources as everything is frigid to the point of needing specialized tools and habitability means similar to interstellar space that it may be entirely too costly to consider. But you would need to colonize some of these worlds just to guarantee you can support an empire that expands beyond your sole system. Solar systems may contain multiple Proximal Zones, but no more than three and there can be multiple Inner Zones and Medium Zones as well as up to 2 Exterior Zones. Up to 12 zones in total if you don't count any belts which may double that amount. The size of the star or stars will determine how big each zone is and by that how many planets or belts there could be. . 10) Zones are divided into planetary systems, which consists of not only the planet itself but also a moon or a binary planetary twin as well as additional orbital zones for satellite habitats or an artificial ring if there is enough room. The Sun itself can host a Dyson Swarm or something similar in place of a planetary system. 11) Like Solar systems, Planetary systems also consist of zones in similar likeness (Proximal, Inner, Medium, Exterior, Ulterior and Exterior), anomalies are likely to be presents if there are two planets orbiting very closely without tearing each other apart. 12) These Zones would consist of planetary entities with the planet itself being one of such entities as you can have low orbit stations and possible habitats or a planetary ring of some sort. 13) The Planet is divided into areas itself which are the Atmosphere, the Surface Ground, Surface Ocean (if it has any oceans), the Subsurface Ground, Subsurface Ocean (if it again has any), and the Interior (Mantle and Core). 14) Planetary Areas are divided into districts which for the surface ground (being the most common you would think of) would be comparable to countries or continents. 15) Districts are divided into Municipalities which can be Urban or Rural. Having many Urban Municipalities will generate a local Megalopolis and If all districts or at least those on the ground surface are Megalopolis, the planet will become an ecumenopolis. Each district contains resources and must build and diversify your Municipalities to provide work opportunities to make these district economic for your empire. 16) The Population (Jobs and Demographics). This is all possible because computers run off hexadecimal, so as long as the divisions don't exceed 16 in number.

This reminds me of how space sectors set in X3/Terran Conflict universe.. Aspec are this procedurally generated or stars systems and hyperlanes manually placed via text file? - like its done with Star Wars overhauls mods (New Dawn & Legacy of old Republic )

Crystalline Bane has been bugged for years, even though patch notes back in 3.4 say it's fixed, that's a big fat lie.

After all this time, you're still over-estimating the Khan? Honestly, I was kinda worried about a Level 10 Khan admiral in this current version of the game. The thing is though, most of the FP is locked up in the Galleon's big armor and hp pool. And surviving to the last won't help the Khan if he gets swarmed; the galleon simply doesn't have the dps or enough small weapons.

Why didn't you bubble the contingency machine worlds? Seems it would've fit perfectly with the playthrough. Edit: Apparently you can't, that's sad.
