Props to you for getting out here and being vulnerable on camera. Sh*t ain't easy. Couple pieces of unsolicited advice for you. Take what you will from this, you're a grown man so I'm not here to tell you what to do. Speaking from my experience as man in my 40s who's built a life with a six figure income: 1. Forget stocks (daytrading). You're basically gambling. At some point you should look into opening a Roth IRA investing in an S&P 500 Index Fund. If you max this out every year starting at 25 until retirement you'll have somewhere in the ballpark of $3 million dollars from that alone. I know when you're 19 there's nothing sexy about growing wealth over time, but truthfully its this pursuit of "getting rich fast" that keeps people broke. Let’s face it most people blow $500 per month on useless things or in the pursuit of getting rich but end up retiring poor. At this point your main focus needs to be getting your income up, in a real tangible way that isn't basically gambling. Focus on things you can control. 2. Making content is great, but I would encourage you to consider that whatever you decide to make in terms of content topic, that you are focusing on PROVIDING VALUE for your AUDIENCE. I mean no disrespect, but nobody is really going to care about content focused on your personal goals and journey outside of your friends and family. As you grow as a creator, people will invest in you and grow to care more. But especially in the beginning you need to focus on what exactly are you providing to the audience. 3. From the value that you determined you are providing your audience, you should focus on how you can eventually monetize that. Most people believe that a creator on youtube (or any platform) can earn a great income from Google adsense alone, but truthfully for most creators making REAL money, this is the smallest piece of the pie. This is why focusing on value provided to an audience, and then understanding how to monetize that value, is crucial. Otherwise you'll end up growing a channel that significantly caps your income possibilities. **as an example, I have a KZbin channnel for my real estate business. I generally earn about $15k - $20k per month in earnings that my channel generates for my business, most of which is profit. KZbin pays me around $70/month in Google Adsense. In other words, focus on how to LEVERAGE KZbin to generate business, not AS your business. 4. I would recommend focusing on digital products and/or services, rather than physical products. It takes WAY more capital ($) to make a physical product business lucrative (inventory, R&D, marketing, etc.) than it does launching some sort of digital product/service, not to mention digital products/services are WAY more scalable at much lower costs (therefore WAY higher profit margins). 5. Forget the car. I'm not saying don't have this long-term goal in the background, but I would take that out of the front of your mind in terms of a main motivator. The pursuit of material things almost always leads to people being broke. I believe that your goal has to be much bigger than that. For instance, your goal I believe should be more something like being able to get control of my time back. I hope any of this was helpful, and doesn't come off too much as "old man yelling at clouds" 😂😂. Best of luck!
