I like how Niko's only stake in all the major overarching storylines is like $10,000. Really shows how much of an outsider he is to not just America but even the criminal underworld. He's not fighting for gang supremacy, Or for the control of Liberty City's night clubs, He's literally just doing it for money. The fact that he starts as just a immigrant looking for some work, to literally the top hitman in Liberty City is so cool to me. He's my favorite GTA protagonist. And I'd say he's tied with Arthur Morgan as my favorite Rockstar protagonist.

Well, I recall a cutscene about Niko buying a gun courtesy of Dimitri. In it Niko says: "The mayor's got a hard on for gun control" I don't remember the exact conversation, but basically it points out that gun control is completely useless. So, yeah the script is written VERY well.

It's subjective. I personally never understood the hate GTA 5 is getting for the story. Whatever video about GTA 4 I watch there is always someone in the comments having an erection about the fact that GTA 4 has a bit darker story than GTA 5. Both stories are great in my opinion. I like that GTA 5 has such a different atmosphere that GTA 4. Such a drastic change works in GTA because GTA games are mostly unrelated to one another. Therefore having one feel completely different from the previous one works. I'm just saying that people are kinda getting annoying with complaining about GTA 5, because we all know both games have great stories that feel unique. And yes I am aware that I'm replying to a 2 year old comment.

@@alexaurum913 I think something both SA and IV did great was getting us attached to the protagonists. I didn't feel that for the characters in V and the story doesn't really give me an urge to replay it, like I've done countless times for the others. It IS subjective of course, the atmosphere in V is great and a good setting with a warm vibe. But that doesn't really make up for it feeling kinda cold otherwise.

Unbelievable that the GTA IV story arch will be fully a decade old by 2019. The base game is already 9, and you have to think of the character's. Niko was just 30 in 2008, and according to the wiki page, he'd be turning 40 next year. Even in gaming, age is kinda sedimental.

The reason I think Have a Heart still comes before all of the TLaD missions with Malc is bc Liz's first body guard is no longer there. He's turned states. If Have a Heart happens after all of the TLaD missions, then wouldn't he be there with Andre? Why all of a sudden she got a new body guard after Karen reveals herself? I think Liz just gets extremely paranoid after Karen's reveal, and for good reason bc she knows she's about to get taken down, but maybe the feds don't have all the evidence they need and let Liz incriminate herself even more as well as continue to collect info on her associates. We do know that the feds are looking into The Lost by this point and it would make some sense to let her keep operating to gather more info on The Lost. She then gets reckless as she continues to work with The Lost and the feds have to go ahead and arrest her before moving in on Billy and The Lost. Niko also never sees Marta who was very prominent in TLaD's cutscenes. This could be the only inconsitiency with the three stories of IV and EFLC, but I think the feds took their time collecting all the evidence, witnesses, and known associates as they could before taking her down. Liz knew it was coming, but not when.
