Yea, I get the point. I'd rather stick to the OG one rather than spending money for the remasters because... seriously, this is one level with AAA games and I have _no_ idea if my old PC can play it. And talk about "modability", AFAIK, games I play that uses the same game engine as Ace Combat 7 and Project Wingman (UE4, correct me if I'm wrong) have modding capabilities and Idk whether these "great" remasters _do_ have them as opposed to the OG games. If I'm being perfectly honest, I'm only playing these for the Achievements/Trophies, then after that I'm never playing them again. Also if you want to try the originals, then as far as I understand, your only option is to search second-hand stores for original PS2 copies, or physical PC copy. (good luck, those are rare). If you're looking for the PS2 copies, then make sure that the disk is spotless, or else you're gonna have to deal with disk read error messages.

I always tell people this but nobody listened and I am going to say this. GTA Online is the reason why Rockstar became like this. Ever since they had Shark Cards that made them money they let all that fame and success go to their minds. That explains why they became obsessed with milking GTA 5 and neglecting Red Dead Online. They only cared about GTA because it made so much money thanks to Microtransactions. Then they are trying to play into people's Nostalgia by releasing this half baked game and they messed up horribly. The fact that a multi billion dollar company failed to even polish these games that were from the PS2 era is so embarrassing. As many issues exist in the DE versions of these games, to me it sounds like the "fog" issue shown at 5:13 is a lose-lose situation for RockStar. In the kindest way I can put it: let's not pretend that people wouldn't complain if the fog stayed in the remaster. San Andreas being the youngest of the three games is 17 years old, the internet would no doubt be making the point that a game from 17 years ago shouldn't need fog effects to hide render distance and that'd actually be a fair point.

If you want a true gold standard for a remaster, play Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition! It fixed a lot of issues with the original, with better visual information during combat, clues to help you see if your bonus effects would work, allowed you to track quests much easier, and in general made the game look and play even better than it did before, and the Wii version was already damn near perfect. And to top it off, it gave you an entirely new epilogue story for something fresh and new for people who played the original to enjoy! They didn't mess with what already worked. They just touched those parts up to look better, and only focussed on fixing and tweaking parts they knew had been issues before, like quest and character tracking.
