I use the 1070Ti. It's still good especially if you dial in an overclock, because, if you remember, Nvidia forbade its partners from factory overclocking this card as it was encroaching on the 1080 performance-wise. Mine, an Asus Strix card hits and stays at 2025 MHz and hovers around 64-65 Celsius, never going above 70. Pretty damn good if you ask me. However, I want a 3070Ti if the price keeps dropping, or a 4070 if that's priced correctly, which I highly doubt. I'm also very interested in what AMD has to offer on November 3rd.

Thanks for this. After watching your video, I downgraded to 1070ti from 6800xt. It turns out I'm perfectly fine with the older card. Found 1070ti locally for $80, just had to replace thermal paste and pads, runs like new, I like it.

I'm using a GTX 1070, which is reaching similar overclocked performance to a stock 1070 Ti. I bought it back in 2016 for around 420€ and think it was a great buy back then. I'm in exactly the position you named: There's no affordable way for a serious upgrade for me. Either the upgrade is too expensive or the performance gain too little to justify the money. The 3050 is no serious upgrade, the 3060 is stronger but not offering so much more performance it's actually worth the money. The 3060 Ti and 3070 are only offering 8GB of VRAM and as I plan to use my new GPU for years I think this might become a limiting factor in a few years. The 3080 and above are just too expensive. The most reasonable way for me to upgrade right now would be something like a 6800 XT for around 680€, which is still more than I'd like to spend. Maybe the Intel Arc 770 16GB really will be a reasonable option if it's offering a performance similar to the 3060 Ti with more VRAM for a lower price? Yeah, drivers might be a problem in the beginning but I'm pretty sure they will work on that.

The 10 series for me is still super popular as it was the last generation with fairly priced cards. Not only that all games new and old work on them from 1080p to 1440p with max or near max settings. Im talking the latest games as we see here. You need a reason to upgrade and the past 3 generations nvidia simply haven't given one so then it comes to price as if your not really looking for an upgrade then only a really good deal would make you make the jump. I have a 2070S as I upgraded from my 980ti which was chugging at 1440p in a few games at max settings. I generally upgrade every 2 cycles so the 4000 series was my time to upgrade but at those prices I'm good. I dont need 120fps on all my games even if my monitor supports it. As long as they hey 60fps with medium to high settings I'm good. This is why I think intel could make a KILLING this generation with the a770 being a great price and still as I said play 1440p max. Most PC gamers dont do 4K as monitors too small to make use of all those pixels.

Still running an Asus Strix 1070Ti, got it used in 2018 for $350 (Canadian dollar) and it hasn't disappointed me. I don't think it will be worth it for me to upgrade until I can get a 3080 class GPU for under $500, seeing as how most of the games I play run well above 60 FPS at 1440p.

Same 1070 Ti as in the video. 3 x 1080p on 75hz for sim racing. iRacing, Project Cars 2, Assetto Corsa. Can do 100+ fps in all with high to very high or greater settings. Well over 200 fps on a single screen for replays. Does way more than the refresh rate so can't see a reason to change at the moment. Overclocked to 2100 and sits around 60C. While it still does the job there's no need to update for me.

A couple years ago I upgraded from a used rx580 to a used 1070 ti strix. The 1070ti cost me about 200 something. Last year I sold the old rx 580 for about 400 lol

I have a i7 6700, 1070ti, 32gigs, OS is on a 1tb NVMe, 3 1tb SSDs for extra storage and a 8gig external barracuda for bulk storage. Windows 10 pro. Been using this since about 2017,,,,,added the SSDs and nvme later of course. Yes it’s old but it still games and does everything I want lol. The biggest improvement a person can do is getting rid of the mechanical HDs and going SSDs! Huge difference!

RP 1 second ago Try as I may, I just don’t see RT as THAT big a thing. Maybe at crazy high resolutions and huge ass TV screens, RT is radically different and leaps and bounds above traditional non RT gfx.....but for 1080p high gfx settings the cost that Nvidia expects me to pay for the feature just makes no sense.

I have a 1070ti in my htpc, got it off eBay a few weeks ago for $130. It replaced a 750ti. The 1070ti can do 1440 high @60+ in most games and 4K@20-30 so not worth it. I have an old 3770 that’s most certainly holding the card back.

I was forced to replace my PC in the middle of the COVID nonsense. I use my PC for work, homeschool, light gaming, Photoshop and photo storage. I previously had a 1060 3gb and an i5 4670k. I actually built a 5600x system and carried over the 1030. I figured I would try to get something better even though the performance of the 1030 was way better on the 5600x system. I found a 1070ti on eBay and definitely overpaid for it. But, I was able to sell the old system with the 1030 for a bit to gain back some money. And then I pushed the ram to 32GB. Im really impressed how well the system does. I've even been able to push the new flight sim to 4k and be someone playable depending on the location. Forza horizon 5 is surprisingly good in 1080, 1440, and 4k. I had actually planned on upgrading when things came down, but even now, I don't see a reason to spend the money.

I have a pair of 1070ti's and run them in SLI. ASUS MB, intel 8700K @5 GHz, 32 GB DDR4 3600 RAM, two 1TB SSDs and three 3TB HDs. Works great for Premiere Pro, Audition, as well as Prepar3D v4 Flight Simulator. I also have two 27" Benq 4K monitor's. This system works great for my use.

Pascal GOAT series GPUs!!!! I got my RTX3050 at RRP/MSRP here in Australia 🇦🇺 for a much desired itx model 🥰😇👍. It’s a great GPU at the right price. The GTX1070 still holds favour with many users and for 1080p gaming at medium/high settings and still delivers 60+ fps in many newer titles which is great to see. It will be a very sad day when Ngreedia stop driver updates to this line of gpus in the next 3-5years 😢😭!

I’ve had a msi duke 1070ti since 11/17. Still happy with performance at 1440p. Just purchased a lg c2 42” with plans to upgrade gpu soon. Struggles mightily at 4k but knew that going in.

Can play 4K with FSR 2.0 on Hogwarts Legacy mix of Ultra/High/medium... SO yeah, pretty good! And NVidia is a sucker, FSR is from AMD, not DLSS, for obvious reasons... 🤑

I have a MSI 1070TI AERO (blower style) that I converted to watercooled with a NZXT kraken kit. I can overclock the 1070ti card high enough to keep up with an oc'd 1080 I'm my other rig.

You will definitely need an upgrade, I have an rx5600xt and I struggle to get past 75fps in some games on my 1080P ultrawide which is a little bit easier to run compared too 1440P

i had a 6gig 1060 from launch then i found a good deal on a used 1070ti ( $60ish ) with a broken cooler a few years ago. i just slapped a kraken g12 and an h55 on and good to go. hasn't even crossed my mind to upgrade. would probably still be happy on the 1060. i'm fine with 720p 30 actually so that is still overkill for me.

I'd love to see Vega 56 revisited, not so much Vega 64. The thing that seems to hold Pascal back in newer titles is its lack of async compute, something the Vega series had.

This is going to sound funny, I bought a new 5600XT for under $200 before the mining craze hit. It's an Asus Strix model that runs cool and quiet. I put it in a media pc. (Best build video card I have ever had.) I had NO idea it played games this well. I figured the 6gb of vram would have been a big limiting factor. It does play video fine. (I have a 3090 on my gaming rig.)

I realize this is kind of old now, but still probably very true and relevant. But, wby not also recommend the 5600xt? It's almost the same price per formance ratio in the US and actually better in the UK. It was also the top of the chart for the average. It could be argued the 5600xt is the winner here if you have to buy a new card.
