Never had a standard 1660 but bought a used 1660 Ti a few months ago. I have it in a 3600X system and, while it obviously can't keep up with the 3080 or the 2080, at 1080 or even 1440 with lower demanding games, it's still a solid card. I played a fair bit of Stray on that system as my 9700k/3080 system was taken apart the day Stray was released. I don't know that I'd personally recommend a 1660/Super/Ti at this point but if you have one, for many people, it might be good enough for another couple years, esp at 1080p.

G'day cz guy, I agree with not recommending new, here in Australia New they are within $50AUD of RX6600 ($399AUD) a much better choice if you can afford it, but if you don't mind used here they can be $250AUD & closer to used 1650Super than a Used 1660Super, with most wanting basically New $$$ for RX6600. When I opened it I realised that it had a 1660ti inside (albeit half inserted in the pcie slot), 16gb of ddr4 dual channel RAM, a 120gb sata SSD, and an old 320gb sata hdd ). Plus, for anything with a little headroom, I can even push a 21:9 res and it still works great. I paid 920,00 Brazilian Reais on my 1660 gddr5 back in february 2020, just before the covid pandemic hit brazil. For reverence the same exact card cost around 1.800,00 Reais today, it was a bargain, and for that price I can't really complain, its has been able to run every single game in 1080p at mid/high settings.

I've been using my GTX 1660 ti since it released in February 2019 for $279 and its been awesome. i got lucky and got a 1660 ti that overclocks really well.

Got a GTX 1660 for 70 Usd on ebay. For that price I figured, why not? Honestly wasn't expecting a huge difference from my aging 970 but honestly I'm surprised. The fps boost has been quite substantial. I think it might be due to maxwell architecture (and pascal for that matter) having poor DX12 implementation.

Was curious if i should upgrade from a 1050ti... i guess ill wait
@asukaainun74732 жыл бұрын
This was the card I want to buy back in 2020 to replace my 1050 ti. I was fiddling between 1660 super and 5600 xt. But then lots of reviews outlet said better wait for next gen gpu to arrive, So I wait and got absolutely blindsided by pandemic and crypto boom. In the end I decided to save up my savings while weathering the storm and see what future pricing might shape up. Then, coincidentally rx 6600 just got down way below msrp last 2 weeks, Like 270 dollars here. That's why I bought it and feels very satisfied my patience is handsomely rewarded.

You would've been 100% frustrated if you would've gotten the 1660S instead of the 5600 XT, given the AMD card is like 20-40% faster, depending on title.

VERY similar story to mine lol. Got the RX 6600 as well at a a good price and the wait was worth it. RX 6600 is a really good buy now since the price drops. Probably the best deal in it's category and price range at the moment
@asukaainun74732 жыл бұрын
@@raresmacovei8382 yea. I thought 1660 super could've last me like 1 generation but it's clearly not lol. Games just gotten way more demanding even though I reckon last gen games already looks really realistic and crisp.

@@darrens3494 yeah it's pretty much a perfect buy for people like me who's upgrading from 1050 ti or something similar in performance bracket like rx 570.

here in Finland gtx 1660 goes around 150-200€ price range (used one). With same money you can buy gtx 1070, 1070ti or 1080. I think especially 1070ti or 1080 with even 200€ pricetag is pretty much worth it. You will get even solid 1440p experince with those. Imho if the price for 1660 goes down to 120ish €, then it would be reasonable

I actually set up someone's pre-built system for them that consisted of the little brother the 1650 and i was quite impressed that it managed to handle Fortnight at 1440p with a mix of highest and medium settings, and still get respectable frame rates, This was just slightly after the pandemic where GPUs were hard to come by and extremely expensive so that was all he could get at the time. Would i pay the prices they're asking now for a 1650 / 1660..absolutely not.

I know this video is a year old now but I bought the regular 1660 the gigabyte OC model for only £50 and it was tempting so I bought it and still performs well

I've had a standard 1660 paired with my 3300x (yes, I'm one of the few who got one - love it) for about 18 months now and its handled everything I've thrown at it (RDR2, Cyberpunk 2077, Days Gone etc) at 60fps with high or ultra setting at 1080p, but I do feel its getting long in the tooth now - maybe time for that 3060ti upgrade?

Before my 3070ti came in, I was using a 1650 Super for some 1440p gaming. I could squeak out about 50 to 60fps in some older games.

gtx 1660 used in my area I find still outta my budget. I live in Scarborough, ON Canada. I saw some used for $250 - $300 CAD If it were under $200 CAD I might consider a gtx 1660 6GB. The TI and Super variants used are really outta my budget.
