The original source of the enchanting table trick also proposes to stand on a daylight detector, because that way you look into the killing chamber horizontally. You will have to remove the trapdoors and place open trapdoors one block higher, though. Then again, this solution probably is Good Enough(tm) for this killing chamber, since the guardians will likely be pushed into one of four locations where they don't have a good angle towards you anyway. One interesting way to prevent them from pushing you around sideways is to place one wooden fence and one netherbrick fence to the left and right of where you stand, respectively. A player fits between them, but they won't connect to each other. (A wall and a fence might also work.)
@Raskolnikov702 жыл бұрын
Another interesting design I've seen has the player stand inside a cobweb block so you won't get knocked around at all. The downside is being stuck if you need to get out of it in a hurry...

I think there's actually an optimal way to place the kelp which will also create a really satisfying effect Heres what I mean in a 5x5 grid but you can really make it as big as you want and as high as you want: O = nothing X = kelp XOXOX OOOOO XOOOO OOOOO XOOOO If you make sure to place the kelp in the top left corner LAST, the water sourced won't have found any diagonals yet, until you place the kelp in the corner which will create a chain reaction that fills the entire area with water sources, starting from the top left and ending in the bottom right. I find it very satisfying to look at!

Hey Pix, not sure if you'll see this, but I'm curious about something. is it more efficient to drain a monument from the outside like you are doing or from the inside room by room. So in addition to signs and fence gates, another option that people might want to try is Scaffolding! Mobs can move up through it but not down, and it counts as a block for increasing guardian spawns below it. Bonus points, you can walk on it so it may be easier to set up than signs. The only thing you need to contend with is making sure it's supported properly

Back in the day I used to build guardian farms without bubble columns by placing layers of water over signs, which allowed guardians spawning there to fall through into water streams, which carried them into the killing chamber. Is that kind of design still viable, how much less productive would it be, and would it still be worthwhile for a solo world?

Replace the outer ring wall with prismarine blocks and some sea lanterns make it decorative. Also maybe build a few conduits in the ring wall.

My suggestion...figure out another beacon effect that would be useful in the area, and put 2 in place so it's not off-centered anymore. :-) And as far as future improvements to the place...a sorting system, and maybe alternate means to get from top to bottom other than having to use elytra all the time. (I forget...do Guardians spawn in 1-deep water? If not, splashdown chutes are viable for quick drops...though of course using bubble elevators to go back up are probably a bad idea.)

I’ve seen this done with some farms, and tbh I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble with a farm this size? How do you build the sand pusher machine?
@Pixlriffs2 жыл бұрын
I think I covered that in the previous episode, but here's a quick explanation: - Place a sand block, with a piston behind it (in the direction you want it to be pushed.) - Run a repeater into the sand block from one side, and a power source (like a redstone block) powering the repeater. - On the opposite side of the sand block, at floor level, place a solid block with some redstone dust on top. Place another solid block next to the piston. - The piston should push the sand block, and now any sand you place there will be automatically pushed by the piston. - Optionally, you can put a dispenser on top of the block next to the piston, and fill it with sand; that way it'll keep reloading the sand blocks in your hand, so you won't have to grab another stack out of your inventory. It saves a little bit of time.
