Depends on your definition of "their". No one on that stage was out of primary school when that was a hit. It wouldn't matter if they weren't pretending to be more than a tribute band, however. In the band's native Canada they get called out (everyone knows what Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman look like, and hardcore fans remember Kurt Winter) so they hardly ever play there. Retired ex-bassist Jim Kale got the rights to the name back in '78 and now pushes every envelope by using the classic lineup's images and excerpts from their hits in promotional material. It's for this that he's getting sued by Cummings et al.

We’ll just see how that plays out now, won’t we? Until decided otherwise in a court of law, this is, in fact, THEIR music. (And just to be clear, I don’t like when legacy bands like this perform with a completely different lineup either.) But if you like The Guess Who’s music, this is the only way to see it performed live today. If Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman would like to hit the road together and play all this stuff, I’ll be first in line for tickets. But until that happens, this is your only option.

⁠@@liverocknow6683 Agreed. Bachman and Cummings don’t have a leg to stand on legally. Neither cared about the name in 1978 because “Classic Rock”!was not a thing back then. Jim Kale is 80 years old. If Burt and Randy each gave him $250,000 (which they CAN afford) would he turn down half a million bucks to sell them the name? Doubtful. Then this whole mess disappears and the members of the current band can join Creedence Clearwater Revisited

I agree it's not the Guess Who without Randy & Burton BUT who cares? I'd check out this line-up anyway if the came to my town. I just look at as a tribute to the Guess Who.

I understand why some people reject the notion of a legacy band like this continuing on without any original members, but that’s how some of these bands have chosen to evolve. Opinions don’t really matter- they ARE The Guess Who, and if anyone doesn’t like that, they’re commenting on the wrong video.

That is true,they did start in the sixties and Garry Peterson is still there, the original Guess Who drummer!!! So until he leaves this is the Guess Who!!! If you and anybody doesn't think so then don't listen to them!!!

I've seen this band perform and they gave us what we wanted to hear. The Guess Who and all their hits. It was a fantastic show. You naysayers would rather they lose their right to play and disappoint thousands of fans. So pathetic. Don't you think this band is helping to sell albums and keep the royalty coffers full?? As long as they are true to the music, that's what we want. Get a life and let the rest of us enjoy the memories.
