I was just going to say that. Ive been doing hair for over 30yrs and when this perm came about we called it a spiral perm done with straight rods instead of concaved. Hence the name "spiral".

Hi there, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Good for you for being courageous in tackling such an advanced perm technique. I have two pieces of advice for you. Since you mentioned your hair is long and thick, make sure you have enough white rods (6 dozen) and 2 or 3 perm solutions. Let me know how it worked out. P.S. It's smart that you chose an acid perm; you're well on your way!

This is the best tutorial I've seen on yt. I'm going to do this on my daughter soon. She wants a little more curly so I ordered pink and white rods. I was thinking to alternate them. I hope that will be a good result. She has typical Nordic hair, so I ordered Wella professional (C) perm kit. It suppose to be a little more gentle. She has a fine hair but a lot of it. Is there anything else I should think about?

Hi there. Check out our video on the piggyback perm. Same technique applies to the root perm. Two rod on one strand. Roll the regrowth into the first roller ( closer to the scalp) and the second rod to the perm part. Apply the perm solution only on the roller closer to the scalp. The second roller with the perm. Apply water/conditioner mixed, to block out perm solution.

Hi thank you so much for this tutorial! I was wondering if one should take alkaline or acid perming solution if they had thin virgin hair with very low porosity?
@ClassichairdesignCa4 жыл бұрын
Hi there. With low porosity, the hair is smooth with a tightly compacted cuticle which makes the hair resistant and does not absorb perm solution easily. Alkaline perm is for normal to resistant and difficult to perm hair. Alkaline perm generally has a longer processing time but with fine texture low porosity hair, I would do a test curl after 10 minutes to avoid over-possessing
