What a song! Superb lyrics. Sunil, you are spot on. Since 1948 the country went down the drain. The only people who benefited from it were the politicians. They also changed Buddhism into a great enterprise with full of thugs in yellow robes. I was lucky enough to leave the hell hole over forty years ago. Sri Lanka needs honest people like you who speak their mind without fear.

The most talented baila singer. This medley is the best I've ever heard
What he sang the truth in Bila. What he sang some years ago is very suitable for our present times. Nothing has changed. May his soul rest in peace in the Lord.

Sunil ayya had a premonition that Sri Lanka will never come out the hole the politicians have dug us into. It's sad that even in his death his premonition still stands true. A country with amazing potential, brought to its knees by a bunch of uneducated thugs, murderers and drug peddlers masquerading as politicians.

I am an Indian and a fan of Sunil ayya. Out of the lyrics I could understand only "if British were here, the country wouldn't be like this." can anyone translate the lyrics?. Shocked about his demise.

He says that Sri Lankan leaders don't care about its people. That the British looked after sri Lankans Better. Since independence all leaders have ruined the country and robbed the country. And today bankrupt country. Sri Lanka leaders suck blood of its people.

Su you are the best in my heart God bless you and Rip.
I 100% agree that the fact that we will be far more better if we were colonized under the British.....cause comparing to other colonized countries like Australia we have many resources and now that we haven't any good leader under British rule we would be one of the most developed country......don't get me wrong....I know that our ancestors fought for our freedom and sacrificed their lives......but we can not hang to that past and keep blaming the British....Any way Sunil Perera made a very good point !

The people of Ceylon were not that stupid. They did not clamour for independence as much as India did but when India was lost it became uneconomical to hold on to Ceylon. We owe a great deal of gratitude to the British, for our roads, railways, education and most importantly a sense of justice and human rights (although now somewhat eroded).
