I'm not sure why the free healthcare meme was included as a conservative meme? As an American, I read the meme as being leftist since it's a common joke that when you tease British people about like harmless things from their culture, they immediately jump to "well at least I don't pay for healthcare/at least I knew I wouldn't get shot in highschool". Of course this isn't All British People but it's common enough that I've seen memes almost identical to that one, with the point being that making harmless jokes about like tea or whatever isn't equivalent to mocking systemic issues, exploitative healthcare, and literal child dead when we Obviously Do Not Want These. I could definitely just be missing some obvious other meaning since I'm coming from this context though!

If someone is being "as bigoted as real bigots"... then they're just bigots. But I've also encountered people, both straight and LGBT+, that are just really quite bigoted towards asexual and aromantic people. It's disappointing since you'd think people who've been victims of that sort of thing before would be less likely to perpetuate it, but apparently not 🤨

Growing up in the 90's, we didn't have the word pansexual. We were bisexuals. Now I've been told that it's because bisexuals won't date trans people and I'm so lost. I will always refer to myself as bi and I'm open to date trans people too if I was single. Some people seem to think bi only means two - man and woman. Bi means more than one. Man, woman, non-binary, trans... I would be open to all.

I grew up in the 90s, and I identify as pansexual. For me, it feels like the difference between "I am attracted to all genders" and "My attraction has nothing to do with gender" The latter describes me much more than the former, and 'pansexual' gets that across pretty well. Maybe it helps that I only really came to terms with my queerness somewhere around the late 2000s, when the pansexuality label was becoming more of a thing. I had gay relationships before that point, but justified those as "just for fun". ... But yeah. I call myself "pansexual" because bi just doesn't feel like it accurately conveys the complete irrelevance that sex and gender have in regards to my attractions, lmao.

@@MisterMixxyThis is similar to how I figured out whether I was bi or pan. So I settled on pan since that's the only condition for my initial attraction to someone

its not "bi people wont date trans people and pan do" thats incorrect but some people get confused by (just like "but if you like all genders then that means you must find everyone attractive and cant have non-gender related moral and prefrances right??"). Bi is the attracation to two or more genders, pan means gender blind attraction. so like I can be bi and like just men and nonbinary people, or woman and demigirls and agender people, maybe I like men woman and nonbinary people but I like men more then others, or and combination or even all genders but they still like hit diffrent, then thats bi. but if I gender wasnt a factor and they all register the same then that specifically is pan.

So, you are missing context for that first image. As someone that lives in the UK, that isn't meant to be a "joke" as you seem to think. In some counties in this country, our police force allowed people to get away with multiple offences of gang r*pe spanning multiple years because of their ethnic background being pakistani. The only punishment the vast majority of these men got were civil punishments that forced them to applogize, or a jail sentance of less than 3 years for the worst offenders (with some getting the equivelent to 3-6 days per r4pe charge). These organized gangs would explicitly seek white English girls between the ages of 8 to 16 to abduct and 4buse, often yelling "k4fir", which means non-believer. It was a religious and racially motivated attack commited by several unconnected groups with some being as large as 40-120 members. This problem was so wide spread at a point in time that our labour party had to get rid of a few members because they were found to have been involved in these activities as well. You can believe in and belong to any political system you want, but to belittle the experiences of girls as young as 8 (and some even younger still) because you don't want "conservatives" to get a win is deplorable. I assume you didn't know the full context, otherwise I'm assuming you wouldn't have taken that stance.

The one thing I'd add about 'declining birth rates' is that there are individual countries (like Japan) that may face difficulties in the future due to the huge imbalance of retired people to working people. But, there are so many factors around this topic - childcare options, women being accepted in the workforce, immigration, etc. etc. (For context, I'm from the US but studied Japan in university and lived there for 8~9 years. So, I definitely don't know everything around it, but I am aware of this, though, haven't looked into how things have changed in the last 5 or so years.)

@stylis6669 ай бұрын
It _is_ indeed helpful. I'd like to add that this is generally correct, but there also can be overlap, like with everything in life. How life presents itself isn't bound to labels or definitions. Like how red is definitely not blue and blue is definitely not red, and when you throw in purple you'll get a long way communicating a lot of useful things using generalities but there will be a heck of a lot of overlap and exceptions. I'm saying this because one of the problems we have is that many people, especially conservatives around the world, want people to adhere to generalised or outdated definitions that many people just can't fit in. It's handy to have labels, but when talking to a person, it's more important to listen and try and understand first and then potentially agree on a label for something if that helps speed up the conversation or make it easier to communicate. There are men and women and generally one has a set of testicles and a penis and the other has ovaries and a vulva. But when talking to a person, they don't have to fit either definition, while they can still fit either category, or both or none, and those categories still exist with those definitions, and a definition might apply without the label being fitting or vice versa, the label might apply without the definition being applicable. I've had a conversation about drums and percussion and classical and acoustic guitars and some people use definitions where drums aren't percussion and classical guitars aren't acoustic guitars, and I don't really care because I'll make percussion and melodies out of everything and as long as the sound isn't created by something electrical it's acoustic to me, including electrical circuits if I use the sparks as notes 🤣And people can label and define it every which way they want, but it's just a waste of time to me and they're better off just naming the instruments/objects by general names, like guitar, drum, box, table, forehead, dickhead, etc. :p Okay, maybe not drum with your dickhead, at least not without consent, but you could :p
