IKR, just when you've found that perfect shade, they discontinue it. grrrr all I know is that I did the research and saw the shade was being discontinued and I thought "What does that mean!" Then my stepmom said, "They aren't making it anymore", and I thought if you can still find it there to stock up b/c it suites so well. Big spooky-but-still-cozy mansion. Wonderful decor. Secret passages. Ghostly footsteps heard in the hallways at night! Thunder and lightning! Paintings whose eyes follow you. And a black cat familiar. Brrr! Great film with happy ending! :)

This was the best print I've ever seen of this film. Seems like I have an old tape of it in black and white.? And I really enjoyed watching it this time. As the Castle burns we are now free of the horrors of the past. If only it were that easy! I note that every Gothic Film has those puffy curtains that blow in the wind. And the candle bra to illuminate those endless passages.

This movie had an unsettling and creepy vibe throughout but ( along with a lot of fainting) there were many plot holes. Barbara Steele beautiful, Dr, or Professor Hitchcock as he’s called in the movie was yes, quite horrible but this movie fell flat. Lots of goofs as well. Filmed hurriedly I later read and it shows. It could have been done so much better and been a quite amazing film. I still enjoyed it though, lol, after all Barbara Steele, need I say more and I have never seen it before! So thank you for uploading it and Happy New Year 🎉

Sooooo EVIL & Wicked , we love the real scream queen & a happy birthday to Barbara . Lovers of horror are glad we still have her with us & if you have not seen Barbara's last film The Butterfly Room you should as she's still got it when it comes to scaring the shit out of you & at 86 or so she's lost nothing in the scare dept. One creepy film & lord she plays her role very well. I know she had a minor role in Lost River but it's no as good as The Butterfly Room where it's all Barbara in all her wickedness . .

Robert Flemyng gave a bad performance in this film on purpose, when he found out the film was about a necrophiliac doctor, he tried to get out of it but could not , so he called up actress Harriet Medin {White} and suggested that they 'act' so badly the film would never get released

I recall, a movie titled; 'The 'Orrible Dr. Hitchcock'. And, it was in b&w, WITHOUT Barbara Steel. I could be incorrect, but I'll have to research it. This was a not-too-bad, Barbara Steel, vehicle👍. So, what was with, the doctor's deceased wife?? Was she, actually dead??? And needing transfusions, from young women, to keep HER young?? Or, was she the maid🤔??
