I'm getting NWN2 mask of the betrayer flashbacks. Especially the good looking hagspawn who's mother actually loved the boy's father. That hag was forced by her coven to eat her love and it drove her insane.

Thank you Pickett. As always, the tales of your travels along with your insight are invaluable. A small bookshelf sits in Candlekeep Library. Close to the acotlye’s study and unassuming in its plainness. Unadorned tomes sit on a few of the shelves. The astute amongst the learners keep an eye on those shelves, for occasionally a new volume appears. With it, new understanding.

I can't remember the title, but 15ish years ago I read a book about a exiled rashemen with a blunt sword and some elves that turned into wolves...might have been a trilogy

Those elves are the Ly thary (werewolf elves) I recommended checking their wiki page , then scroll down to the References section , you might find the name of those novels there 🎉

AJ you seemed to miss that they do have male mages. The witches made laws against the rule of mages since their old civilization, Raumathar was destroyed in a mage war. The witches are watched by barbarian (as in the class) clans and male mages deal in more destructive magic and hence have many more rules. They even have those cool masks they have to wear

Telling stories amid dropping lore remains a fun angle. And it also just struck me someone could literally hone their DMing watching these. Which is real neat. I alsofeel like I caught a metatextual point there. The value in the old ways, in balance. I bristle always at some of the words used for this ('gatekeepers' is ruined for me, for the foreseeable future). But the value of a balance to things...well, that goes beyond Rashemen, D&D, and out into media in general. And more. Then again, I admit remembering Farideh might have Rashemi ancestry (and her creator played a Rashemi witch in Westgate Irregulars on here) is a big part of what made me fling myself at this video. But the thumbnail and the theming helped. And my ongoing trust for the guy making it remains the foundation.

Great video!!! Looking forward to your updated vampire video! Also hope you have a exclusive video on the draconic vampires. Because, in our campaign we had a green dragon inflict it's self with the aid of dark magic to become a vampire dragon! It's amazing to think of in the world of dungeons and dragons what getting bitten by a vampire means for a human as far as a power level boost but for a dragon seems like they could possibly become leaps and bonds more powerful. I hope to see a possible video on the subject soon from the #1 dungeons and dragons lore KZbinr on this site.

I played original & Minsc was my favourite character… low & behold I Find him !! I laughed & immediately had him in my group Level 12 wild magic barbarian

In my campaign, I made the Derro all first-generation offspring of a Hag and an unlucky series of captured and cursed Duergar. These Derro are all male, and are all spellcasting Savants, each with their own goals. Two of them are trying to make a sister-wife; from this shall spring the future "biological" race of Derro.

Ahhh, no hags in DD are nothing like Warhammer. In WHF hags are typically women who have lost families in chaos attacks and join the Mother and other “daughters” to learn hex magic to fight back. They become more ethereal spirits over time but start very human. They are more based on Baba Yaga lore.
@mikewaterfield35994 ай бұрын
@@Vandelberger im not referring to hags, I am referring to the nation and people of Rashemen and how one might look at Kislev and draw comparisons. “Kislev is land, and the land is Kislev”. More over while only fleshed out in an old white dwarf edition there actually are witches for a supplementary Kislevite army called “Hags” and “witches” in place of more traditional wizards who wield their own elemental magics. This was long before CA made their total war series.
@Vandelberger4 ай бұрын
@@mikewaterfield3599 Yeah, I that all makes sense. I think the Rashem here treat their "hags" or witches with more reverence where the hags of Kislev are willing to sacrifice humans to defeat their enemies are seen as both good or ill omen.
@mikewaterfield35994 ай бұрын
@@Vandelberger just a smidge, one are the revered true rules of their nations. The other are barely tolerated officially and widely feared.

The vremyonni are the male casters of Rashemen. The wield magic, but not political power. They're isolated from society and generally make magical items.
