I grew up in Nigeria not knowing anything about Indigenous people, but coming to Canada and learning all about them, their resilience, courage, and spirit make me really proud of them. I am glad that they are not letting colonization take away their culture and lifestyle. To all the Indigenous people out there keep pushing and we will always be there to back you guys up

@@thewhiterabbit9204 In Canada there is very real problem of First Nations Women being murdered. Femicide is happening at an alarming rate in North America. It needs to be addressed. In Canada, First Nations are about 6 times more likely to die at the hands of a man than other women. I understand what is happening in Mexico with drug cartels is different than the femicide, which is happening in Mexico too. Both are urgent problems that I hope in my life time start be addressed in more serious manner. ❤

One of our strong women just came back from protesting at the Capital, a white man recognized her from the news and started yelling curses at her when she was trying to pay in the store. She stood her ground silently until the store clerks couldn’t take it anymore and told him to leave “Why should I leave, it’s my land, she should leave!” he screamed. He was still at the side of the road screaming as she paid and drove away. This is life in Canada for standing up for charter rights and showing solidarity for your fellow Canadians, our beautiful women deserve way better treatment than they have and are still currently getting. Truth & Reconciliation is for all of us to heal, stop making new wounds.
