Big reason this movie didn’t my work for me. Why would a scientist try to touch an animal making a textbook threat display? Plot required it.

Deleted scene shows it make more sense. He was too enthusiastic about being the first to see alien life and was likely driven partially by greed and desire for fame. Being in a multimillion dollar spacesuit probably contributed as well making him more reckless and think he'd be safe. It falls in line with the alien universe being full of greedy careless businessman and scientist. Plus keep in mind Weyland likely hired researchers that weren't the most intelligent or ethical given nobody knew what the Prometheus's mission actually was until they arrived.

Taking the deleted scene of Millburn getting excited about finding worms and saying no alien life has been found up til that point into account, it was over excitement, a desire for fame, and potentially greed since the Weyland corporation would have certainty have wanted to obtain one like what Weyland-yutani would want with the xenomorph.

I hope we see some Day this Creature again, it was a very Fascinating Creature and Maybe we could See them again, Maybe as an Enemies in a Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 or a Alien Isolation 2 as a small Creature that is attacking the Player. Since we See them in one of the Comics and the many Prometheus refrences they do in the Comics, im 100% Sure that we See them again in the Future and i defenetly belive that they are still living on Lv223 waiting to be found again. Its most likely that it was so scared that it Attacked them in self defense and then decided to eat some of his Organs, plus when you look at Millburns Body then you can see clear infection Traits around his Face so it might also Infect People with the Pathogen by attacking them most likely because the Hammerpedes bath in the Pathogen
