The quarantine here isn't over yet so let's just do pottery at home!
You don't necessarily need a pottery wheel for hand-building pottery, so you can always try it anywhere. And what about the tools? No worries, you can substitute it. Try to substitute the pottery banding wheel with a serving turntable like I did (or a cake turntable will do) and let your finger do the magic! Try out this pinching and coiling technique to keep you relax and sane. :)

Fabulous to watch you build with the clay. This is the first time that I’ve seen someone work with flat coils. I’m 61 and just started ceramics, I’m really enjoying this process, love to work with my hands. Thank you 🙏❤️

Is that a marble slab that you are working the clay on?...
@SadurStudio

Hello there. No, it just a clay with pinching and coiling technique, and i didn't do marble on it :) which part do you think it's a marble slab? Maybe i could explain it more to you.

Hi, thank you so much! The book that you saw on the video is actually my sketch book. And for the narrow part, i'm sorry i didn't take any footage of it :( it just hard to take a video and do the pottery at once haha. But i'll consider to make one, thank you!

How long can you let the greenware sit to dry? Is there such thing as it being too dry to fire in the kiln?
@SadurStudio
@SadurStudio 2 жыл бұрын
I usually leave them around 2-3 days since Indonesia is pretty hot. It depends on your weather, actually. And no, there's no such thing as being too dry. You can leave them as long as you want to but still, if you want to make use of it, you have to fire it. Hope it helps! :)❤
