I'm a December-ite as well. At two days before Xmas the line that always got my goat from my dad was, "Do you want one GREAT present or two regular ones?". Good thing I grew out of that [or did I?]. Keep on being a charming king Son of a B [you little hummingbird] =o)

Plateau or not, the amount of weight you have lost in such a short time span is incredible. Keep it up! Birthdays can wait, I move mine around all the time.

If you can see it, then you can do it. If you just believe it, there's nothing to it. I believe you can fly! I believe you can touch the sky!

As the days passed, I grew sad. Has Vanawesome disappeared again? I wondered. Then! Today I visited youtube, and alas there was a new video to watch. All was well. Ps: don't give up mister, you will reach it! (You should totally celebrate your birthday though like, make your flight a celebration of how far you have come instead of a birthday one!)

Celebrate your birthday dude! You were born! Your parents reported first thing: It's a boy, he weighs X, etc. So celebrate your damned birthday, and don't worry about the scale that day. Then celebrate when you get to your new X.

Not going to lie, my wife had to explain that (Yo-Sem-Ite) was (Yo-sim-it-tee). I'm dumb. Anyway, don't let the plateau get you down. Keep the positive vibes going!

Please don't just focus on the weight. You are on a journey of getting healthier and fit! I don't even own a scale because I know that I'm healthy ;D

No, it's not 'okay.' I'm'a tell you again: coffee all day, any meat all day (the less salt the better, so get some chicken breast) and to top it all off: a chef salad at night. Make your own salad dressing (mustard, canola oil, minced garlic and red wine vinegar-- that's all there is to it). The hunger pangs will stop by the third or fourth day and you will lose a pound per day. Can that ketosis crap, not working. I used to get my chef's salad right out of a deli and asked for it dry. No probs. Just do it, no back talk. Do you want to fly or not?

"Coffee, any meat all day and salad with dressing will make you lose 1lbs a day" Not sure if trolling, 1/10 for making me reply. Terrible advice.

I actually know Joe and Joe knows me. This advice is what worked for me when I was 28. Joe has a much better handle on the way I give advice and he knows he is free to ignore any part of it. Since you know the advice is "terrible" you must know what advice is much better. Give it.

Haha. Elliot, you realize that what your describing would absolutely put you into ketosis right?

It's how you get there, bud. When I did what I described, I did not eat anything until that chef's salad. Just drank coffee all day. That chef's salad had rolled up beef, turkey and chicken with swiss and cheddar cheeses plus an egg. I had access to a doctor's scale and so I could see the pound-per-day each day. I did it for 29 days when I noticed that I was then losing 2 pounds! I did that for two days and quit, because it kind'a scared me. (Grand total: 33lbs over 31 days.)I was then at 198. I crept back up to 220 over the next 10 years or so-- which was not bad for me and I attribute it to my change of diet. No red meat -- which is, in and of itself not bad (not back then-- now it's bovine growth hormone time) but it's all the associated junk with it (+fries and a shake were SOP)-- now all chicken/turkey and eggs, not much bread. I tossed in the "all meat" bit because when I returned to dieting in my 50s, I found I could not resist (too sedentary). So I ate various meat stuffs and fruits and vegetables for in-between times. The idea being to always have something to stuff into your mouth. No hunger. But, hey-- you're still young enough to handle this level of dieting. Especially considering what you've just been achieving. And you do want to lose a lot of weight.
