Sophie Scholl was not executed in Plötzensee/Berlin. She was from Munich/Bavaria and she was executed in Stadelheim!

Hearing that Hitler had this or that installed sounds a bit fantastic. The Reich Chancellor wouldn't have time to dwell on that. I believe someone at the prison came up with the idea and it was approved by the immediate superior.

When the prison was damaged by bombs in 1943, there were space problems in there. The executions were accelerated and in one night as many as 186 were allegedly hanged. Whether this is just a legend or truth I cannot verify. Roughly speaking, 5 people would have been hanged at the same time every 15 minutes
