Hello! My name is Stick the Eagle (“Stick” for short) and I am currently attempting a thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. I am traveling NOBO from Georgia to Maine. Oh my goodness! It certainly seemed like an engineering problem to solve getting through those boulders! I don’t know how folks are doing this with all that weight on their backs. It will never cease to amaze me! I don’t know how people keep their bearings. You had great weather to do this extremely challenging part of the trail. Well done!

There are two big reasons you took longer than most people -- being extra careful because of your ankle and trying to video so much more of it than most vloggers do. Thank you so much for showing all that! I have a much better picture of Mahoosuc Notch now. I'm so glad you had plenty of daylight and no rain! But I'll bet you are glad you replaced your trekking poles before Maine! Also, sad to say, but it doesn't look like those Topos are going to last 1400 miles, heh. Maine is really rough on equipment.

Dang, Stick, I think your time was impressive for how much you film the Notch... I think I recall Badbat filming some of this but she was with 2 others and they could pass their backpacks to one another... I certainly was concerned with you getting stuck... but kudos for taking the time to film as much as you could... can't imagine doing this in rain or night... there was a few times that looked like you could have gone the wrong way... glad you "took it like a turtle" 🐢 and got through it with no incident... It was certainly interesting trying to navigate both backpack and person by myself. But we did it and overall had fun. I too enjoyed Badbat.

What an absolutely beautiful day to tackle Mahoosuc Notch. Your rock scrambling was great. Way to go… 👍🏼 Thank you for taking us along. If you get into town, get some Tiger Balm or Bengay and lather your ankle in the morning before you set out. Be sure to wrap it up too. Hopefully that gives you some relief. Don't worry. You will never truly leave the notch due to PTSD. Wel no leather pants or liederhosen. Kudos as the first to complete the journey in a speedo. Olympic. Was that Shelob lurking in the darkness? A best guess is the short hikers go through in pairs. The squirrel is friendly as many hikers pass through. He wanted your nuts. They get into sleeping bags and the drama is. After that Katadin will be easy especially in cooler weather.

It's crazy that you're this far and into Maine. Doesn't seem that long ago you were at Grayson with the ponies and running into PBJ. This was a fun area to watch you get through. It kinda reminded me of a puzzle and chess in a way. Lol. You lucked out and got a beautiful day to do the Mahoosuc. Way to go🎉 You did great🎉 ✌️🫶🤜🤛🥳

What an interesting stretch the notch was - great work showing it! :) But you are still doing it Stick: you constantly talk about, theorize over and compere your mileage and time-use to others. I know it is important to be aware of your milage as far as having water, food and campsite availability - but it still seems you put a lot of weight on what others do and don’t rather than you just doing you. And when you do not have a deadline looming - I love how you in fact DO your hike :)

The Notch is the most fun we have had together so far! That was a great day -- and really glad we had great weather. Can you imagine those rocks in the dark or in rain?

Looked like a puzzle that someone tossed about that you tried to squeeze your way. Did not see much blazes to help with direction. Did you have to use the far our app a lot? Happy Trails.

Well there was a Cliff on either side, so the direction was clear. FarOut doesn’t tell you which rock crevices to enter.

I did it in the rain and scuffed my pack cover on some of those scrapers, made it, patched it up with duct tape from the inside.

I saw a video that a lady hiking with a dog and the weather was terrible way earlier this year I think, she took a blue blaze up around the ravine of the notch.

There is a blue blaze around the notch and arm. Instead of the two miles it is a little over 6 to go around.
